raw. Ian is one of the best frontmen of rock and his voice is completely underrated, He puts his whole heart and soul into his singing and has great style. I just saw an interview recently and Ian's voice is still great. Billy Duffy one of the best guitarists of our time. This is what Jim Morrison would have sounded like if he were still alive and had kept drinking. garage band grunge. raw. real, down to earth. love it! nothing like it today. not even close.

Was walking through the Charlotte airport this year (2023) and stopped by one of my favorite bars in the E concourse. This song was playing and three twenty-somethings stopped me and asked what the band was. My reply was "This is the Cult, the one band that a person can listen to and never NOT be considered cool afterwards. Their sound changes over the years, but they'll never disappoint you."

Ive seen them 16 times beginning on this tour 1987 and I can say that their 2019 Sonic Temple 30 tour and the show I caught a few months ago in 2022 were the 2 best shows I've ever seen them play. I have never seen them have a weak show...and looking at this clip which is 35 years old...they sound even better in 2022...Ian's voice hasn't given out a bit..Billy's tone is actually better than it has ever been...having John Tempesta on drums for the last 12 years has easily given them the solid backbone that was their only missing link (not that any of their drummers have been bad...but Tempesta is hands down the best of the 5 drummers I've seen them perform with) They will forever be one of my all time favorites

My 1st concert was in May 1987, with The Cult opening for Billy Idol @ the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, Ca. I wasn't familiar with the band & their music & didn't really appreciate it as fully as I should have. I still kick myself to this day for witnessing one of rock's greatest venues & not appreciating it to the fullest extent. The ensuing weeks that followed, they got quite a bit of air play on the local radio, KROQ. That's when I got hooked & been enamored with their music ever since. I've been fortunate enough to have seen them in concert 4 more times.( 1990, '96, '02, & '17) There'll never be another band like them. The soul, the vibe, the majesty, & the mystique will never be replicated, that I can say with certainty. Anybody who's ever heard one note played by these marvelous musicians will be transformed for the better forever. Long live The Cult. (With a respectful shout out to Billy Idol & Steve Stevens.)
