they are the true definition of "cool kids". I discovered them weeks back, and I'm too immersed in their world, I never listened to bjork until I found out this band. discovering the sugarcubes then discovering bjork is such a strange experience i'll never forget, it feels different. what's more interesting to me is that I still can't believe they grow older, in my mind they're still very young I wonder how they feel about getting older when they experience being the sugarcubes..

The Icelanders that I met, for the most part, seem to be genteel, humble, and highly intelligent. The Sugarcubes are very indicative of that.

Quand le "monde" se rend compte que les Sugarcubes n'ont pas besoin de lui... Bien que la charmante présentatrice soit tout à fait polie et courtoise, les questions qu'elles posent reflètent l'arrogante omnipotence de l'impérialisme occidental en général et américain en particulier. Les réponses taillent en pièce chacune des questions posées, tellement elles sont loin des centres d'intérêts et préoccupations du groupe, contre toute attente. La question la plus stupide est certainement celle autour de la presse anglaise et de ce qu'en pense le groupe. Et la réponse donnée par Björk à ce moment est la plus intelligente possible, "Vous devez comprendre que nous n'avons pas ce journal (aka Melody Maker) en Islande. C'est comme si vous demandiez aux habitants de Jupiter s'ils vous aiment bien." ...Quand l'âne brait, on lui donne de l'herbe. C'est sans doute cela qu'on appelait liberté et indépendance d'esprit par le passé. Tout cela est bien révolu aujourd'hui.

she’s throwing them easy, standard music interview questions and they keep coming back by challenging whatever she says despite most of it being common knowledge or they reply with short dumb answers that completely miss the point half the time (especially from the guy on the right). i think she did a good job keeping it rolling so smooth since she was working w these pretentious nincompoops
