as a filipino, typhoons are extremely common in the philippines, especially in luzon and visayas. also, try visiting either luzon or mindanao soon, it has good tourists spots like the mayon volcano and other stuffs.

I have few bad story’s about foreign man visiting and staying in Mindanao for you all, one of my friends moved there with his wife to Zamboanga from Manila and they rented a nice big house in guarded subdivision and soon after he was approached by barangay captain and was told that his name is on local gorilla fighters list and he offered him a gun to always carry with him and thank god he refused, he later went to a Zamboanga police and made a complain about it and that’s when he was told that it was all I lie and barangay captain and his right man was setting him up so he would get pulled over on checkpoint and police would find a gun on him and he be thrown in jail and they would say they don’t know anything about that and after they would get money from him for his released 200-300k Second story was with another American vet living in Mindanao for many years and he was known to many local as a good guy when one night he found him self in a bar when there was 2 drunk Filipino guys whom asked of him to buy them more beer 🍺 and he refused and that’s when Filipino pulled out a gun and shoot him in his face, he died and left his wife a widow and 2 children with a daddy and their support.

Hi Travis it is not really a typhoon more of a moonsoon. We are on the wet months now. The best months to come to the Philippines is around October until March or April which is nearly the dry months.

Hi Travis. If ever you decide to visit Palawan again, please feature Lio Beach and Tabon cave. It is less touristy but it is as stunning as El Nido and Coron. I hope you can feature that. By the way, try to visit Quezon Palawan, it is underrated but it as much as paradise just like the others :-)

Bantayan Island is one the best island with white sand beaches that I keep going back, it’s sucks it rained all the time you were there mate. I hope you visited Burrito Factory in MJ Square and visited night life there also it’s great party there always. Next time you going back to that island try to stay at Bella’s Guest House it’s where the best by far western comfort room villas and high speed internet unlike other places on Bantayan.

starting from end of month of MAY until august is the monsoon season here in PH.. typhoon is consistent too. . so make sure always be prepared typhoon in PH is devastating... power bank will become your handy dandy bestfriend when theres a week long blackout after typhoon..

In the Philippines, the Summer Monsoon (West or southwest winds) is called the Habagat (ha-bag-at) and the Winter Monsoon (North or northeast winds) is called the Amihan (a-me-han).
