I remember bits and pieces of Ultraman, Ultraseven, Jack, and Ace when I was a toddler and had no right to choose which channel to watch, just watch whatever people put on TV. And then I have vague recollection of Taro when I was early in primary school. Then few years without ultraman and they faded from memory. Then right before I finish primary school, I got a new channel and saw Tiga. That got the ball rolling, kept following the series, skipped school to watch Dyna every week, then gaia. Cosmos felt a bit too pacifist for edgy teen me, skipped it. Got internet and managed to get on Next, and then Nexus. Few years later, before and during college, Mebius came and revived my love for the OG Ultraman era. Then the big movie with Belial and Zero came along, enjoyed it. And after that they kept mixing the universe to sell toys, with every series not set in the original universe but have older Ultramen everywhere with no effort on the story writing and I just gave up. Picked up a few series here and then but could never finish it. They're too busy shitting on my nostalgia. Kinda like the seasonal rider war thing from kamen rider. Nonsensical bullshit just meant to put all riders on the screen and sell some merch.

I started watching Ultraman Tiga when I was in elementary school, Ultraman Dyna when I was in elementary school, Ultraman Gaia and Ultraman Cosmos when I was in junior high school. it's all my favorite ultraman. plus Ultraman Mebius at the age of me who is 22 years old. I first encountered the ultraman series over a decade ago during my first year of middle school. My initial reaction was basically "what the actual hell? this looks really dumb, who would watch this?", mostly cause I found it while on a school computer and my "friends" where watching the same thing and not agreeing with them was the same thing as committing social suicide at the time. So i laughed at it with them and moved on, putting it out of my mind. A few years later, during the time Ginga was airing, I found it again. This time I was at home and so felt comfortable checking it out and after giving it a chance... Well I suppose I instantly fell in love. Especially with Mebius, a series which helped me make some life-changing decisions. I no longer have any contact with my classmates from middle school because I realised that I wasn't what they wanted and I no longer wanted to pretend to be. I no longer have a problem sharing my love for the series with my current friends, and while they might never understand what I see in this series, they know it's something I like and respect that. Oh my, this turned in to quite the rant huh? I can't even remember the initial point I wanted to make.

Ong's Jukebox Channel Having a great life now and nope, the first one i actually watched properly was Mebius. I have watched the first Ultraman since though, as well as all the other classics. Mebius is probably still my favorite though.
