"NUH-UH, I WON'T BREAK IT". I used to hear it all the time when I was metal detecting or RCing at parks and schools. I've owned a 4x4 xl-5 Rustler for about 4 weeks now, and I guess I'd better soon cut the plastic off of the box, and see if it works. Nobody to run with, but I still enjoy these trucks as a stress reliever. Looking at an E-Revo 2.0 down the road, and if i win the lottery, an X-MAXX. : ) Thanks for the video.

I'm glad you said something about the "Can I try?" comment because I actually wondered about that and how you would handle it. Little kids don't understand the power of Traxxas, they are used to the slow power WalMart RC's. I'd be afraid to hand them the controller, would have to come up with a nice way to say Negative.

Im 15 and sometimes kids ask to use mine in front of my house, I usually feel really bad so I put it on training mode- of course it still goes 30 mph but I tell em not to go crazy with it and it's usually fine although one time my friend ignored me not expecting it and full throttled and turned right and smashed my cam links

Love the Rustler. Been running xmaxx alot and didnt notice how slow my reflexes had gotten. The rustler will fix that. Its air control on 3s is outstanding.

@geodude3966 you're better than me. I let them try out the TRX4, it's slow enough that they can't really hurt anything and I can tell right off if they don't know what they're doing. But it's rare I have anyone asking me to try it, they are usually discouraged when they see the speed it's capable of.

Just bought a set of these for my rustler 4x4 vxl can't wait to try them out. You're right about that speed gear though. I put the 17t on mine and that motor got hot extremely quick. So I ordered I heatsink and fan kit for it. I have a 20t too but the heat that would generate is probably crazy

I don't let strangers drive my cars. I've had a buddy that handed his controller to someone, they drove the car down the street and took off running after it. Dude was bummed because it happened so fast, he couldn't catch him lol. Nice run, might have to get another set of Anas for my Rusty. Where you at? Would love to come out and run with you sometime.

Try running in sand, 10mins max on 11T before esc shuts down. Gearing vs heat depends totally on the terrain.

I think you should do the “car wars” at the skatepark. How fast they are isn’t really the issue because every buyer can adjust the pinion and battery to whatever they want. I would get all three at the skatepark so people can compare how they hit the jumps and the durability, which is more fun to own. I know you sort of did that already with separate videos, but all there at once would be cool. Anyway, thanks for the vids! I got my next purchase narrowed down the the rustler or Granite. I have a ton of stampede and slash 4x4 parts. Is there a lot of common parts with the new rustler??

Just ran my stampede on 4s today, mamba X. What a fun beast, 18/54, I tried 21/54 seems I need more juice in the caboose (6S) for that gearing but it flies already.

Hey Jay, when you get those 3 together for battle with 2 other drivers, just switch off cars between rounds or every race. Unlike most of you sunny flowers who are fine with others approaching you and asking to see or use your RC cars... I ignore these loud extreverts and continue on... I get the same speed outta mine on 2s5000mh..i got rpm arm upgrade..and aluminum rear castor blocks..on 5000mah 3s with 20 tooth pinion..tires at 55 56 mph still look like pizza cutters

When I have a remote where it's easy to change the throttle end point so speed can be limited I might let strangers drive my cars. If they ask nicely. Without speed limiting on the remote I don't. The thing does 50+ mph, it's dangerous if the hit something or, even worst, somebody. Nice tires, might get a set for street runs.
