They were purchased from Toys R Us over 8 years ago. They are Ten Eighty Skate Ramps, the Kryptonics Edition. Came with the two ramps and a table top. I don't think you will be able to find it new but it may be available on the secondary markets.

The reason you can't get the speed rating is because you are using the center differential. There is a plastic disk that holds a magnet that attaches to the spur gear. The center differential doesn't allow for that part.

No it isn't. I spoke to Traxxas and they said that it's a bug in the app. I downloaded an older version of it, and I get the speeds showing on my Rustler Ultimate.

​@LifebyDesign slipper has friction pads that will wear and need to be tightened occasionally. Diff will have fluid in it that can act as both lubrication for the gears, and controll how much resistance there is. Some people like it loose to aid in handling. A loose slipper would wear out after just a few runs. Long story short, reliability and tunability.

Great review thanks I love this truck especially after watching your video on it. I don’t think I’ll buy one. Although I’ve thought of selling my current truck just alone for that green haha 😂. My vxl 4x4 rustler has some upgrades such as the front and rear red trx aluminum front steering/ rear carriers, red trx chassis center tower to tower brace and the led kit on the newer red/blue body. I did install aluminum blue wheel nuts and the upgraded wheelie bar also. I’ve got some nitro rc cooling fans on the Esc and motor and it runs great. I do however plan on getting some of those Gravix tires, blue gtr shocks and the sway bars and center diff from Jenny’s rc hopefully. I use my rustler mostly around the yard it’s a perfect size to bash around. 👍🎅🏻🇨🇦. Happy New Year to you!

To get rid of that whining noise change the diff ring and pinion to 5379r front . The rear to 6879r and pull the front half off of the truck leave the center drive shaft in and mark the chassis and grind out were the drive shaft rubs the chassis I was mad wen I got mine and it made all them noises

I love the new ultimate body, and the gravix tires . I already have a vxl rustler so I ordered the green ultimate body and the gravix tires . I swapped in a spektrum 85 amp esc and 3300kv motor at punch 5 . Such a fun car

Traxxas is a good company man. I have 4 of their cars and I have an Arrma Infraction V2. The Infraction and the E-Revo 1.0 are two of my favorite 1/8th and 1/7th scale electric brushless onroad touring car and truggy combos. The other 2 are the Stampede 4x4 Vxl and the Rustler 4x4 non ultimate Vxl. I also have a Losi Vaterra V100 1/10th brushless converted touring car. It’s a 1972 Chevy C10 orange pickup truck slammed. It comes with a headlight kit which is awesome. I wish most of the Traxxas and Arrma cars would come pre equipped with lights rtr out of the box.

@@ReadySetRC Yeah lately with the heat and 10 months of being absent from the hobby because of my anxiety issues really messed with me not feeling able to play with my outdoor toys. I stayed inside and played video games for almost a year because of the stress and what I felt the heat was doing to me at times. Sometimes I would go out there and play for 10-30 minutes then all a sudden I would feel symptoms of heat exhaustion with a rapid pulse rate and anxiousness up the ass. I would normally stick through it and continue running my RCs but I had a day when my stomach started to feel nauseated and I felt I had to cut it short. Drove my ass back home and just waited and waited.

In a Traxxas vacuum this is a good deal with all the upgrades. But for $20 more you can get a 6S Arrma which is all aluminum, steel driveshafts, comes with a center diff and an ESC fan.

I bought the Rustler 4x4 Ultimate not too long ago. I am a bit annoyed that with all the hop ups they put on it, they couldn't include a $15 fan for the ESC lol... That aside, I really do enjoy it, and I agree that it handles great!

Depends on your driving habits. What you are looking for. The Maxx is a beast with jumps and hard landing's. The rustler can jump fine but it's more for hauling ass

The sad thing about this recent "Ultimate kick" that Traxxas is on is that, while these vehicles are absolutely gorgeous to look at, they're actually making them LESS durable with all these aluminum upgrade parts. On top of that, the dollar amount that they are quoting in 'upgrades' is nothing but a "marketing lie". Yes, if you add up the retail price of all upgrade parts included, they will add up to the amount that Traxxas isstating...but, what they purposely don't include when they're telling consumers this is the value of all the parts they removed...which, in the end, means that the dollar figure they are quoting and upgrades is far greater than the ACTUAL value of those upgrades. Adding another layer to that, it would be interesting to know what the manufacturing cost is of the parts removed, as well as the upgrade parts installed, as that would show the cost difference is even less than what they're claiming. All of that said, while it definitely is good to upgrade certain parts, upgrading all of the parts that they are adding not only drastically increases weight, but also puts excessive strain on the vehicle, as well as the electronics. One truly needs to think carefully when deciding what upgrade parts to install. Typically, I put upgrade parts into three classifications - performance, handling, & aesthetics. Obviously, the first two are the most important, unless one is building a "shelf queen"...and, unfortunately, when I look at these latest "Ultimate" vehicles from Traxxas, what I mostly see is upgrades primarily installed for their 'aesthetics'.

@@Shellzwick Exactly. And, for far less...be it Traxxas or Arrma...one can purchase a roller from an "RC chop shop", add the best/proper (ie. NOT go 'overboard' on "bling") upgrades, and install their choice of Castle/Hobbywing/etc electrics. Heck, going this route, it's even possible to end up with a vehicle that better than, AND have it cost less than, the 'standard' version. Using my X-MAXX as one example, my final out-of-pocket cost was less than $200 more than a regular X-MAXX...and, I have Castle electronics, M2C & Vitavon 7075 & hardened steel parts, etc. Anyone can easily build their own "ultimate" version of any RC, and save money while they're doing it.

@kareemthomas9872 Traxxas confirmed that is the case. There is a magnet on the spur gear that helps capture speed. You lose that when you go to the diff.

Looks nice but is it $550 nice? Seems like alot for a rustler, even though it has some metal goodies on it. Watching this made me interested in it but then i looked it up and was kinda surprised to see it was that much. I was thinking maybe $399 or $450 but $530 plus tax seems pretty steep for a 1/10 stadium truck.

@cwatson42785 You know what the problem is, Traxxas is competing with itself. From the BL-2, to the VXL, to this they set the price point. Folks mention the Vorteks but it doesn't sell. I feel like it's on sale every other week😆 I will say after driving this the Vorteks is not in the same class.

@ReadySetRC I agree for sure that it seems like definitely better than the vortex but just the price is pretty crazy. Even when you compare it to their 1/8th scales which aren't that much more it just seems like they inflated the price a bit too much for a small rc. I think they know that their fanbase will buy it no matter the price. But in fairness it seems like it's a common theme in the hobby now with the prices across the board getting out of hand. I just think $429-$449 tops would be more appropriate for this rustler.

@@ReadySetRC Yeah my Traxxas Rustler 4x4 VXL has all the stock parts in it except for the pinion and spur gears being upgraded as well as the steering links upgraded to the dark blue Traxxas aluminum anodized ones front and rear as well as Coda or Koda Racing front and rear aluminum red anodized A Arms. I still she the stock wheels on mine for dirt and asphalt as well as a set of front and rear Traxxas Anaconda onroad wheels with the orange plastic rims. It’s a badass rig man. My Rustler 4wd Vxl can max out between 61-64 mph depending on the C rating of the 3S lipos I have in it. If they are a 40-75C I can crack 62-63 mph maxed out. 64 maybe 65 if I have a 80C or higher burst l/discharge.

@wakko6965 I wish I could say positively yes or no but I've never owned or driven the VXL. With the sway bars, different tires, better shocks and metal in places where is would tighten up some of the movements that plastics give, an educated guess would be yes. Even though it does not come with the diff stock, the installation of the diff would give a little more control to the front of the RC.

Traxxas is sadly missing the mark with these ultimate editions. I dont think not 1 of them is worth the high price. At 450 you can get the Outcast/Kraton 4s that has fans and a center diff. I do like they changed the wheelie bar the original jammed up in the body and shredded it I just took mine off it wasnt worth having it for the damage it was doing. At least Arrma raised the mud guards on the front my Rustler has the screen bag you literally have to have it that tub chasis collects so much crap. Its a great rc I think they need to work on improving stuff not adding metal and focus on lower cost rc's because Arrma gave them the finger this year they hit out of the park. Just my 2 cents I own a little bit of everything I dont have a favorite

I guess for me I wasn't comparing this to an Arrma or anything else outside of the Traxxas brand when it came down to the decision to buy. I was going to buy this or the Stampede BL-2 and upgrade it. I like the HD parts on the BL-2 and prefer the plastic over metal but taking into the fact I've never owned a Rustler or a Stampede the Ultimate was the way to go. For each person the decision factors are going to be different. For me it was going to be a Traxxas, just ended up being the Rustler Ultimate.

@ReadySetRC the rustler is a good vehicle its fast and durable mine has taken a few high speed hits into the garage lol. At that price point especially for the ultimate there should be fans mine would go into thermal so fast its pathetic. Definitely look into a screen cover for the chasis if your in any type of dirt it will fill up fast and when you add fans stuff will jam in there quickly. Its a great rc you should have fun with it.

@hadarledezma1725 All depends on how you plan on using it. I would never drive my Rustler like my Maxx and vice versa. If you are looking to catch air and bash the snot out of something the Maxx is the truck you want. This is good for ripping on pavement and grass, some light jumps and trying to get some speed out of it. Nothing I would do with a Maxx.

Buy a Arrma 3S vxl. It comes with the front and back steel diffs , 17 hex all terrain exelent wheels , the drive shaft sistem is MUCH better designed , it wont brake like the traxxas does ! And you can buy the slipper clutch eliminator for $13 . Much better car by far and $150 less !!!

@eduardonessim4499 I'm guessing your new to the channel, welcome. I've owned every Arrma 3s and 4s BLX minus the Granite and the Kraton 4s. Some I've owned the v1 and v2 of. I've even owned some of their brushed vehicles, also the 2wd versions. All vids up on KZbin. I would compare this to only the Vorteks in their lineup and as much as I like that RC, it did not give me the same experience on the first run. It didn't even come close until I threw a 4s system and even then it felt like a one trick pony. As for breaking, all RC's break. I broke most of those 3S and 4S except the Vorteks(which I drove it more street that dirt) and the Vendetta.

@@ReadySetRC I have my thypoon 3S with a 120 amp esc and the stock motor and i run it with a 4S 6500 mah batery and it is a rocket ! I owned a 3S traxxas slash , i did the same thing and in 5 mins the drive shaft melted the back part where it joins the diff box. Arrma is a much better quality brand than traxxas all the way .... I own a 6S typhon with a 8S mamba X , a TP power 2300 kv motor 29 T pinion and a 32T fixed spur , a carbon fiber wing and its running 130 mph. Stock diffs with 1.000.000 diff silicone fluid. No traxxas will do that . All these 1/10 traxxas cars always brake the diferentials in no time .
