I’m actually building a 2WD Rustler from the ground up and it gonna have the AWD Rustler body on it. No I’m not doing the clipless mounts. Too complicated for me so it’s using the traditional body pins

Ok.. I love the VXL and I seriously want 1 but I have the 4x4 basic rustler... will you pleeeeeeaaaaaasssseeee do a video on how to do power and chassis mods on the XL5 rustler?

I checked it out n did a video on it, this is a different chassis from the 4x4 slash n stampede, this is 20mm shorter,it’s 20mm longer then the old Rustler,the a arms r totally different from the slash, new design n new plastics with resins like rpm, these new heavier duty a arms will now be hip ups for the slash, also it’s not a new radio box just the same box located in a different spot, also the new beefier driveshafts r heavier duty then the slash 4x4 n will now be a hop up for the slash. Why don’t u wait til the end of October for the brushed version to come out if ur gonna rip the electronics out anyways.

It depends on a lot of things, but we usually suggest to narrow it to Rustler - Slash - Stampede.

Generally speaking its just a better truck...2wd is not that great in small sales, 4WD is what we were missing....everything else we'll fix with aftermarket stuff 😎

Also I hate the no clip bodies. The Xmaxx body falls off like crazy. Nobody else admits that this is a problem and they fight me on it. I jump my truck and it falls off usually before I reach the jump.

I don't think that nitro would ever become as popular at it used to be. Traxxas knows how to get maximum out of R&D investments, so I don't think that they even consider nitro cars. ....just for stats, probably 98% of the cars we sell are electric.

Traxxas do not sell roller chassis... Sometime it is possible to find those on eBay (when somebody breaks down the chassis for parts).

The only thing I never liked about the old ruslter is the lack of travel in the back you can't jump it off a curb without bottoming out on the motor.

Our only complain was lack of steering....no front at all. You basically aim and shoot all the time instead of steer.

I saw another reviewer take out a screw on the pivot of the battery hold down and flip it over to fit a larger battery. But then he needed a foam spacer because it was too big? Just fyi

Yeah but we need a Local RC TRACK .. im Trying to get one built at PECK PARK san pedro ... and there already is a great grass/hilly area in the back ... just need cones ... ( hill makes for driver platform ) its perfect.. and peck park built a skate park a few years back so they are open to change . -Yes OC RC is cool but a bit far , and 20 bucks per practice day is stiff , a local PARK TRACK is FREE- the car parts cost enough... and Gas driving to places .. PECK PARK RC TRACK !! lets make it happen
