U need some rpm wide arms on the front to even out them axles. Did it to my 2wd rustler and it works great with same offset wheels all around!

Don't know where in CT. you are, but Middlesex college in Middletown has a great big parking lot. Slightly sloped so after rain it's smooooth. Got my car to 67 there.

Nice, that's not far away at all, like 20-25 minutes away. My sister lives in Middletown. Nice, 67mph, that's awesome. I just used my GPS app to measure the high school lot I use to test my tune changes. Its a 430ft span, sounds big till it takes about 3 seconds to travel it lol 😂. And that's only 60mph! I just upgraded to 1:1 ratio now, 34T/34T. Will probably test it out 2day when I get out of work fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks again for the location tip, really appreciate it👍👍😎

Brilliant idea I've just upgraded to the revo pads did you find out if you can use the revo shaft to use the plate.
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching 👍 Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, somehow my comments notifications were turned off, not sure how that happened. No, I never got a chance to try out the revo shaft. She's been running great with the revo pads & spring alone. I do however recommend that if you have a powerful system like this, you also add loctite tobthe threads, because the nylock nut is not enough to hold on. It began slipping off causing the clutch to slip excessively. After the loctite, haven't had an issue.

You should get a slipper clutch eliminator so you won't have to worry about having to deal with pads and the plate, it'll make life easier
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
I have thought about that and mentioned it to my local hobby shop. They said that I could, but they warned me that it could lead to issues with my internal gear box gears. For high speed runs, I'm just not sure how important that slipper clutch is. I need to do a little bit more of research.

I got my max8 turn in yesterday and it’s all installed, I got 17 tooth pinion gear, I just don’t know what spur gear to use
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
That all depends on how you want to ride, speed running or bashing. If your just bashing, stick to about ~3.75-3.90 ratio & keep a close eye on your motor temps. To calculate your gear ratio, divide the spur teeth number by your pinion teeth number. Remember, the lower the ratio #, the less torque (take-off power) & the higher top speed you will get. And vice versa, the higher the ratio #, the more toque & lower top speed.

@@chevyboi8392 remember, bashing has a lot of stop & go, so the lower your gear ratio #, the hotter temps your motor will run. What pitch is your 17T pinion?

@@chevyboi8392 The largest mod1 spur i could find is the revo 40T mod1 gear, like $6 Traxxas 3955 40-T Spur Gear 1.0 metric pitch www.amazon.com/dp/B000BOPK14/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.wTtEb2MS1WEZ This is plastic & cheap, so its easy to experiment with. But you will need to get a much lower pinion gear. Cuz a 40T/17T is 2.35 ratio. For bashing that will most likely heat up your motor quickly. Your probably going to have to get like an 11T to put you at 3.64 ratio, 12T max at 3.33 ratio.

have you tried a slipper clutch eliminator. should slide right on. Gonna put one on a bandit for drag race conversion.

Thanks for watching 👍 No, I haven't. These revo pads & spring have been working out great till this day. That's awesome, Bandits are fun, got my kids a couple as their 1st traxxas. I'm in the middle of upgrading one to rustler parts, juat uploaded a vid yesterday showing that you can replace the front & rear hub carriers with the rustler ones, which allows you to use larger bearings. Also will be replacing the arms, drive shafts, buckles & camber links to rustler ones & add some nicer tires. I already put a brushless system in her, with stock gearing on 3S she's hitting ~45mph!.... Don't want her to fast, it's the 5yr old's car lol.

Had a question about how you set up electrical so that for your fan and gear box
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. 👍 What would you like to know about the electrical & gear box?
@mosests34 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry not the gear box but the servo. How do you use those hubby wing parts to run the servo and receiver
@mosests34 жыл бұрын
Are those the same as BEC
@mosests34 жыл бұрын
I'm great video really helpful
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
@@mosests3 Yes, a UBEC is an external BEC. So basically, you tie the + & - input on the external UBEC to the power input on the ESC (the battery input wires attached to the ESC). Then, the cable (3-wire cable) that goes between the ESC & the receiver, that needs to get the + & - signals removed (typically red & black, the white is the speed/brake signal wire). Those are the wires that power up the receiver. Now, the 2 output wires coming out of the UBEC can replace them 2 wires you removed on the receiver end. So basically, you had the red & black wires coming from the ESC into the receiver via the 3-wire cable, now those red & black wires come from the UBEC & go straight to the receiver. That way your receiver is being powered up by the UBEC. And since the receiver powers up the servo, it also now gets powered by the UBEC as well. (note: you may have to remove the red & black wires only from the ESC side & then splice them to the output of the UBEC if the UBEC you have has only flying wire leads with no connector). Hope this makes sense. Let me know if there's anything you still need clarification on & I will try to help you out. I may wind up doing a video on it since I still haven't installed it (been lazy lol). But I have to replace my ESC fan cuz I busted it & need to solve a bad electrical connection problem, so now is a good time I guess. Specially since now I'm also powering up my GPS via the receiver as well.

First like, nice car what’s the best transmission upgrades? I’m running a max 6 and castle 2200kv on 6s mainly bashing and just street fun

Also I’m thinking 40/20 mod 1 gearing, is that too low or too high for a 2wd with this combo?
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
The 1st tranny upgrade I did at least is the diff case, I upgraded that to the hot racing sealed differential case. It's a metal housing vs the plastic traxxas housing, which is not sealed & the grease eventually leaks out leaving your gears un-lubricated waiting for their doom lol. The rest of my gear box is stock & I haven't had an issue so far after half a year of riding. And with a 2200kv motor, I recommend upgrading the drive shafts. If your budget permits, get the MIP steel ones. If not, get the traxxas heavy duty ones, I have a vid on that upgrade.

RC Bustanut I got all rpm parts, stock transmission and I have mip x duties. With the hot racing sealed diff can u out anything other then grease? I heard once the grease runs out it turns into a 1 wheel drive. Also would u say to put in marine grease for the gears?

@@kaysonosborn5247 gearing is funny lol, I have been experimenting slowly to get to where I am at now, 26/34. But I'm focused on serious high speed runs, trying to get to 100mph. Just did 57mph in a small parking lot today & it's crazy fast. It depends on what you're looking for, bashing or speed runs or kinda a hybrid where it has good top end but still enough torque to rip off fast on the get go.. When I was bashing with the 48 pitch original gears, i loved the 28/83, which is a 2.93 ratio. Had balls to take off & still good top end speed. In mod1 gears, that's close to a 14/40. Just gotta keep an eye on your temps when playing with gears.

Can you only run one battery on the esc or do you have to run two?
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
You can run a single battery, but you will need an adapter, or modify the cabling if you have a soldering iron & some heat shrink tubing to insulate the solder joints, or electrical tape if you can't get your hands on the tubing.
@rcbustanut20574 жыл бұрын
www.amazon.com/dp/B07P5CPSVK/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_y7wCEb0TR499E That's the adapter you will need. I believe if you run 1 lipo, you will need at least a 3S lipo, If I'm not mistaking. Also, make sure it's over 5200mAh & at least 50C, preferably 80C. This will help keep your ESC from becoming a crispy critter lol.
