you need three channels for reverse and if you have the brand new tmaxx 3.3 (4908) then it does not come with reverse. look at your transmitter if it doesnt have the third channel switch like in the video then you dont have reverse.

I heard that using the reverse puts a hell a lot of strain on the engine. is it true?

this is pretty much a standard for all nitro cars and/or trucks and hpi racing cars and trucks come with there own video

On my maxx 2.5 it got reverse. Since the 2.4Ghz traxxas link reciver servo upgrade,its no longer usable. Glad i jammed that fuckers transmission into drive position. Shit ALWAYS slipped in and out of gear,never went in reverse,then sometimes it did,then gets stuck in nuetral. Dont even bother its not worth even using lol!
