Just need a better servo and you'd be all set. I recommend a XP ds1015, perfect for a short course. When I ran short course, I used those servos all the time..have great torque and speed.

Chester Copperpot That will most likely be my next mod. Will probably wait until next fall now. This is more of a winter hobby for me and my boys. Once my real car comes out of the garage these normally sit on the hobby shelf.

Hi I'm new to the hobby and was wondering if the Slash ultimate 4x4 is worth getting over the standard slash 4x4? Do the upgrades make much of a difference and is it more durable than the standard?
@newagemuscle2010ss8 жыл бұрын
Diggin2Metal In my opinion, I think it is well worth it. Let's say you really get into the hobby and decide to do the upgrades later. You are going to spend way more in the long run if you start trying to do the upgrades later. Take it from someone who found out the hard way on other vehicle platforms. The fact you are getting the low center-of-gravity chassis , all the aluminum components , and the GTR shocks is a big difference when it comes to handling alone. As for durability, all the Slashes are very robust vehicles. I would recommend going with Slash Ultimate. I hope that was the answer you were looking for.

Diggin2Metal Hey. I have had the 4x4 ultimate edition and the snandard edition of the 4x4 and i say that with the same upgrades (incuding the alluminum on the ultimate) they are very different around the track. I sold my base model 4x4 and decided to use that money in a new set of drive shafts. The constant velocity drive shafts are the best ive ever had. It is diffinitely worth it to have the ultimate edition. Has more power and strength to support it

Would you be willing to provide a parts list (including part numbers) for your recommended RPM upgrades? I would really appreciate it!
@newagemuscle2010ss8 жыл бұрын
Hi Casey, I don't know any of the part numbers off hand. I would have to do some research. if you don't have a local hobby shop near you probably the easiest way to do it would be to go to Amazon and search RPM parts for traxxas 4 by 4 slash ultimate.

So what’s the annual fee on the Amazon card? So how did those shocks towers turn out?
@newagemuscle2010ss5 жыл бұрын
Actually I never used it. I canceled it right after I got it just so I could get the discount. My buddy uses it and loves it. He says you get lots of points towards future purchases. It's funny you ask because I did the same thing again this year, but this time they were offering $50 off. I will also cancel that again. As for the shock towers surprisingly they have held up perfect. Very rigid and nothing has bent at all. I'm very happy I went with them and I would recommend them.

Just so you know, Larry's doesn't allow 3s. Not sure if you were talking using it there or just outside, but yea
@newagemuscle2010ss9 жыл бұрын
Chester Copperpot Ya... I know... no 3s's allowed... though I have tested a few in there. Way way to fast for that track. They will for outside this year.

First of awesome video, but what kind of battery is in this video.
@newagemuscle2010ss7 жыл бұрын
john COLLINS .Thanks, It's a 5800 mah, 2 cell 35c house battery from my local hobby shop (Larry's Performance RC). Kind of a cool looking batter because it has that carbon fiber look, but nothing out of the ordinary.

can i please get a link to a store or somewhere i could get upgrade parts for my traxxas slash 4x4? please and thank you for the video

I'm located in Michigan, so I normally get most of my parts from my local hobby shop. The name of it is called Larry's performance RC. I do not believe they have an online website where you can purchase parts from though. I also tend to order stuff from Amazon.

how do you keep them so clean???
@newagemuscle2010ss8 жыл бұрын
they're not always that clean, but I normally do pull the tires or I should say wheels off when they get really dirty and I do hold them down. I then use my air compressor to make sure I get all of the moisture off of the car. When I am spraying it off I try and stay away from anything that's really electronic though.

Hi, does/did your driveshafts handle 2s power?
@newagemuscle2010ss5 жыл бұрын
Yes it did. I do find it to be a weak point though if someone is going to be bashing or if they get in a hard crash. The fact that is just an extruded spline kind of makes it a weak point on the vehicle during a hard hit. That is why I upgraded to the solid one piece with the dog bone ends. It's pricey, but I have never had an issue with its sense and now I'm running a 3s.

Where did you get the black body clips?
@newagemuscle2010ss7 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith. The black body clips are by Team Losi. I get them from my local hobby shop. The true benefit is more than just the color. They are a thicker gauge diameter clip and are less prone to come out and provide a much better fit. Below is a link I found to them on the web.www.amainhobbies.com/team-losi-racing-body-clips-black-12-tlr8202/p216089?gclid=CIiW1q6IiNMCFVWewAodVm0PSw

Thank you for your response and for the link! I have already placed the order. Our Slash Ultimate's are pretty much identical, so good job with the upgrades. The main difference, because i do not race, is that i upgraded to the 17mm HR wheel adapters and i am running both the Bandito as well as the lockup tires depending on my specific application at that time.
