Traxxas Sledge upgrades and some changes! 

Been doing many upgrades and changes to this car over the last couple weeks and one thing it needed was some better shock caps and wanted to test out some different tires on this platform.

The car is really coming along and I’m surprisingly very impressed with how the car is holding up and the air control on this thing is on point.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news...but those 9540 hinge pins are the standard/stock pins. I’ve already broken 4 outers. Replaced the rear outers with RPM X-Max’s hinge pins and have had zero problems since. Got the new M2C outer fronts on the way.

Yeah I have found that out after the fact I thought these were a different version at first but M2C s going to fix that

I LOVE the stock E-revo 2.0 tires on my Sledge. Gets it lower to the ground and works great for track days.

@@BarstoneRC i agree 100%. Its kinda scarry they are same as maxx but they made the inseet hole bigger 😱, not strange it breaks 😂.

Those are the same pins just as a full set and break just as easy. Go M2C.

@@BarstoneRC ahh I thought you were referring to the lower outer pins with the nylock nuts. The ones that are breaking for all of us owners. I didn't realize you meant the main internal pivot pins for the lower arms.

Hi David, are you sure you can put the Motor to the rear end? How will that work? Changing the Mounts and turn the Middle-Diff 180 degree? Is the Motormount crafted symetric, so you can use botth sides?

Yes they have both set ups will be available I didn’t get the rear facing set up because that’s not how I’m using my car but both options will be available

Where is the m2c esc mount? Iam curious to see it I’ve seen they have two different esc mounts?

I have mine mounted in the stock position but with the aluminum mount down there.

I broke one of the so called hardened hinge pins when I first got the truck and Traxxas sent me the pack you got and told me they do have hardened in there stock. I don’t see how I broke mine just putting the arm back together and trying to tighten the nut on the end but anyway I still love the truck.

Yeah I didn’t think the hardened ones came stock and I was definitely wrong on this one. But I’ve broke two of them now also

I am now running a max 6ESC and the stock motor with a 19 tooth pinion. Runs awesome.

I put the stock motor in there with the Max six now to try it out and I am really digging this set up.

@@BarstoneRC awesome man!! I might do the same setup as yours! Recently got the M2C chassis using same motor mount setup as well! Also did the silicone ear plugs in the the diff! Another question did your truck lose top speed by doing the ear plugs? I also put 16 pinion was suppose to pick up speed but it’s less now but it definitely helped the truck so much handles and turns better as well now!

Too much weight for the drive train on this thing it would snap axles all the time

I just stick a body reamer in about four different places evenly spaced out in the tire to give it a little bit of a hole for the water to come out. Just needs a tiny hole

Awesome setup…my sledge should be arriving tomorrow….do you know if m2c will make an extended chassis, obviously it would need a rear driveshaft, center brace and rear chassis brace as well… maybe like an xl kit or something

Fairly certain that kit is just the same grade pins that came installed stock but come in a complete set for the entire vehicle. I have broken 2 set thus far, currently waiting for my M2C pins to show up.

Yeah you are correct on that I thought these were the upgraded version but they’re not, but yes M2C is working on pins for this

Hey do you know when they are going to release the rear motor support bracket? Feel like the motor is floating in the air with out it. I just put on the new motor mount, definitely a huge upgrade for it.

It should be up very very soon. It was just being tested with a few different motors all of us have to make sure it’s working properly

I don’t think they released the chassis yet on their website we have been testing it out to make sure no other changes need to be made before it’s released

Just got Badlands on my Kraton. That and the Extended Hex's have made it look soo much wider and beefier than before. can't wait to take her out but waiting for parts I damaged on her last outing with old motor :( Going to be a whole new Truck.. Hey, I see you have a Tekno Truggy too. I love mine for the track and keep Kraton for bashing :) .. Can't wait to see the sledge out again. C ya mate

Great handling and Glides through the air so nice. 1 of the tacks has a nice big jump.. either gotta go slow or really fast as a medium speed gives you a really bad landing. Duno if I could watch my favourite racer take a beating though :P..

I own a TON of Traxxas rcs, & all have upgraded shock caps on em, man. I had 2 stock caps blow, which oil peed on me. Now, when I do any work on rebuilds, or get new cars, the stock caps get replaced! Sledge looks good...

I really like the backflip LP's, they look a bit small on some rigs, but they are great on everything I have put them on! I hope they work out for you!! It's crazy how many upgrades there are for the sledge already, I think that is the only thing about it that reminds me of Arrma. Just solid, crazy durable upgrades that are avail.

Great setup man, the Sledge is ready to devour the MX track with some good big jumps to the moon! Many fit these Backflip wheels which seem to do the job, does it fit on your Maxx without modification and what are the dimensions of the wheels, if you could tell me that would be cool bro bash, thanks in advance ? I have put these tires on the max but I didn’t really like it because it actually had too much rotation and air control at least running on 6S. It was hard to control in the air

@@BarstoneRC Indeed I looked at the dimensions diameter 172 mm weight 390 gr it's too much for the Maxx that I ride in Proline Badlands 3.8 it's great! The Sledge is in stock 3.8 maybe you have to stay in the same dimensions in any case it's going to make you look forward to seeing all this man, enjoy!
