I feel this is how the truck should have came. I'm running the 2028 motor,hobbywing max5 setup. With all the extra weight, inlcuding the huge 4s packs, I put in 50k shock oil and the slightly stiffer traxxas springs to help with the handling. What an improvement. The springs really helped the truck land, jump, and corner better with all the extra heft.

there cush drive aluminum diff cup can be ordered for the diffs to replace the plastic cups also the bulkhead is the exact same as the one thats stock it all fits in the stock i dont get why they gave it unless the plastic is harder

Wayne Neal your better off Traxxas is not doing right by the generation one XMAX owners do the math it's not right I called Traxxas customer support and They sed a lot of first generation xmax owners were not happy about the 300$ plus the esc 799$and 300$ that's 1100$ the new model is 899$ okay so you get upgrades I still think with all problems I had with three of these trucks they could have done better for the first generation X max customers I don't need any upgrades my XMAX,s will smoke the new generation XMAX I don't have a problem spending the money I have a problem with corporations not doing right by the consumer best of luck you're right I'd wait and get the new generation two your better off out the box 8s nice 👍

Giostealthr1, you definetley need a set of Sway Bars, lots of body roll on it especially with that 8s power upgrade. Also would probably help with stiffer shock springs and heavier shock oil to keep it from squating hard like that on take off launches and hard stops. I just bought my Xmaxx and took it out for the first time few days ago using the stock 6s setup and its already crazy fast and flipped it several times, scraped the body mostly because it didn't come with a wheelie bar and traxxas should of threw that in with the truck as standard equipment when they already know it flips so easy with lots of low end torque.

I've been tearing through front diff ring and pinion gears for my XMaxx. I on my 4th set. And I buy the machines spiral cut ones too. I cleaned it up and changed the bearings and it happened AGAIN! Anything you know of that could help me resolve this? I call traxxas and they don't do anything but tell me to send in my broken pinions and if they think it a faulty product they'll replace them. Any ideas would be appreciated. I've dump near $200 in gears on this thing.

get the next spring tension up the 1.19 I believe I got them and it helped alot I also tried some progressive spring for the xmaxx that I found online but liked the 1.19 better

ok it's been had the power bro when the xmaxx first came out the first thing I did was put an xlx on it with the castle 2028 and Kershaw kit it very powerful I have also ran it 8s with the max 5 and stock motor and also a million others aswell. This has been out done people acting like this is new no i its not this is what alot of people was doing already traxxas just got smart and decided to make some extra money and join the 8s club while companies was making there money witch they should have did from the start so they were losing out well good video though and thoes tires we new they were trash on 6s so it don't take 8s to find that out and the stability we new that as well with the dumb Truck wobbling my messageto everybody is stay away from this truck get a mt pro or put it on 8s and now you got a real Truck for its cheap money..

flash to fast for that a Traxxas has know about throwing the 8s system in the RC even before the generation one was released. Here are the reasons for this. • first - cost difference. The newer tech would have run the x-Maxx to be more than buying a 1/5 losi. Cost wise it wasn't there. Remember - the XO-1 price point. Car plus batts cost 1200 • second - issues with the first gen one esc.... reprogramming and the esc needed a fuse • third - traxxas works with castle to develop their esc... thou running what you have in your rig is awesome ( I would have done that from the beginning - kershaw designs are a excellent company to bump up RCs speed ) I knew traxxas had this in mind ..... Last - as a RC company - traxxas is no fool • x-Maxx 8s - x-Maxx 6s • erevo brushless - erevo brushed • slash vxl - slash xl5 • rustler vxl - rustler xl5 Etc etc There always has to be a price point set for RCs

No, Traxxas has BEEN greedy ever since the Summit and Slash 4x4 came out. They even went as far as to cut off all retailers from giving any coupon deals, discounts or other incentives that you used to be able to get. I still buy Traxxas, but not brand new and only used. I refused to give them anymore money long ago.
