I just got am xmaxx ultimate a month ago. Finally out an 1100kv and a max5 with 1.5 mod gears 25/30 and I hit 72mph. Crazy is I ran out of room and I still had a quarter throttle left. When I tried to pin it at that speed it wheelies and almost flipped it

Did u have to modify the tray to get those 10000mah batteries to fit. If so how did u do it

Nope, no modifications to the lipo tray. Just put them on their side so the leads come out properly and snap closed. They are tight but otherwise fit fine.

Looks like a good starter. Have you ran the m2c shock pistons in your kraton or outcast yet? I was not a believer in them till i ran them. Total game changer! I have 4 kratons and 2 outcast that are full out m2c. Nothing but the best.

Yes, I have them on my K12 and running 100wt f/r total game changer! I’m almost full M2C’d out on my K12, just a few more things.

@KamikRC I think out of all the m2c on mine the shocks and the chassis were the 2 that were total game changer. I want to build a xmaxx or xtr full m2c car next. Do you think the xtr is comparable to the kraton at all?

I’m almost all M2C’d out on the XRT, just need the bracing and the shock parts.. Does it help? Yes. Would I compare the XRT to the K8 rtr? No. The K8 is better. But after all the m2c parts on the XRT to a stock K8 would i compare them, they’re similar. Imo the K8 is better all around. Granted I have the exb, but i compared it to my friends stock rtr and the k8 had better handling, better power, more range and ran about the same time on the same brand/mah/c rated lipos. If i had to buy an XRT vs an O8/K8 RTR I would definitely choose the O8 RTR or exb over the XRT. Costs too much money to get the XRT to be a legit apples to apples contender. I’m already in the hole -/+ $1800-2k on the XRT and on my 12s Kraton I’m in it about $1600+/-. Thanks for commenting! Keep on bashing brother!!

how are them hoovo batteries holding up i have the zee brand and i realy like them and have about 30 charge cycles into them already but there rated 100c so yours must be a little more powerful since there rated 120c

I love the hoovo lipos. They hold up very well, I have probably 100 or so cycles on them because I use them for both my kratons, Mojave and 8s converted 1/8 Kraton. Wish I could stuff these into my sbr 2.0. :(

The XRT was the biggest piece of garbage rc I’ve ever bought. It broke continuously even while landing “perfectly”, my Kraton running 12s broke much less.

I like your style and I did subscribe however I think when comparing parts such as gears, they should be done separately. I would have liked to see you change your gears first and compare the ESC with same ratio I think if you put the optional gear set that came with it that you would have got 60 mph also. I really try to know what the changes do directly that said if the speeds are b the same then maybe the ESC didn't change anything? Also have you spent the 30 bucks for Bluetooth module I'm sure you know it gives you temp, Voltage, current and RPM on the app I have a cell phone holder on my remote it'd nice to see even angles of your RC and make end point adjustments all sorts of stuff it's all there just need the 30 dollar module that inserts in the remote also you can control more channels and lights

I had the module and it shows telemetry sure. It is a very cumbersome app, worse than the Spektrum one and I hate the Spektrum app. I had switched the gearing to the optional it it got 54mph. Many other reviewers show the same thing. I greatly dislike the Traxxas electronics, they got very hot on stock gearing and even worse with the speed gearing. I had it recorded (I thought) but I must not have clicked record. -_- In my opinion, the XRT was (I’ll get hate for it) junk. I didn’t bash it nearly as hard as my other vehicles and it always broke. Rear upper bulkhead, arms, bent CVD’s etc. My compatible vehicles take way harder hits and keep going. Yes I break them too but, they last a full bash session at minimum. Thanks for the subscribe! great idea bro. Yeah im actually gonna do that as well but just using a Max 6 with the spectrum 1250KV. i just rather have a nice 8MM motor shaft it can handle so much more then the stupid stock traxxas crap. once i get my Max 5 G2 for my outcat 8S exb il have a nice back up system. Just sub 👊

I loved the way the Spektrum system performed! Much better than the stock Trashhas system! I’ve since thrown another motor/esc in it and Its much better now! I’ll be uploading that video soon!!

Zeee’s performed worse than the hoovoo lipos. I have the zeee 4s 8000mah 100c lipos, hoovoo 4s 120c lipos, maxamps 10000mah 100c 4s lipos, smc 10800mah 4s 120c lipos, smc 6000mah 4s speedrun lipos and used a buddies 4s traxxas lipos. Couldn’t get the XRT to get anywhere near 60 out of the box (even on the speed gearing). That’s why I swapped systems. The spektrum did way better than the Traxxas esc and the Hobbywing on 6s did waaaay better than Traxxas on 8s.

It really is a much better system! Stays cooler, more power and is faster! The 160a Spektrum was much better than the Trashhas bs. From a guy with an xmaxx, Maxx, 2 trx4's, fire team, 2 gen 8 scouts, slash 4x4, rally slash 4x4 and many many more, you're right. They shouldn't need upgrades. I'm very frustrated by having to upgrade something as simple as a steering servo. However, I choose to upgrade other things to increase performance and durability. I get it. It seems a bit nuts

I would say all were needed except the 24mm hex adapters. I just prefer to have all my vehicles wheels be interchangeable in case I break a wheel on another vehicle I have plenty of spares. Having to upgrade the esc, Servo, motor etc out of the box is insane. One shouldn’t have to do so for a $1k vehicle.

Shaun, i agree. I think it’s bananas that I bought and built a 12s Kraton for cheaper than I bought AND modified the XRT For and It still doesn’t compare. I like the XRT but do I love it? No. Do i love my Kraton? Yes. I’ll have to make a video of all necessary upgrades i did for the vehicle vs what i did for the Kraton and bring it to light the cost difference/savings you get with the exb.

I agree with you. As it would be cheaper just to buy all the upgraded individual parts and put them together to make the car you want upgraded. Which would be about the same price or not much more. But the way you want it, already with upgraded parts that you were already going to buy or replace the cheap broken parts anyways. Definitely cheaper to do in the long run.. Only if I knew that when I first started, could have saved me thousands, and many hours of my life. To do it right the first time. Oh well live and learn, and hopefully somebody listens so they don't have to learn that the hard way like most of us. My new car I am building is a Rovan Baja5 on 12s. Which I did buy all the aluminum parts first seperate with electric motor and made it 4WD with a center diff / front&rear diffs and front suspension& hardend axles from the Rovan LT. (controller,upgraded shocks, Aluminum beadlock rims, regular & paddle tires, Rsnake 400a esc, TP 5670 990kv, X4 7000mah 6s, servo, Ubec, headlights & orange anodized everything i could and silver/black I couldn't). that Im in it for about $1500 all said and done. Now Im looking into extending the range and make it FPV. But for the parts I want to do that with are probably going to be about another $1500. I was even thinking about going old school with 24mhz or 72mhz on the transmitter so it wont lose signal going over a hill or dune.( which might be a challenge in uts self to find or make one that works on a RC type controller or wire into an actual steering wheel with pedals. Then have 433mhz for the video on a really tall antenna.

The XRT sucks in comparison to a Kraton. It packs air underneath the vehicle and causes lift my Kraton did over 80 on the same system.

Based on my tests (And many other KZbinrs) she doesn’t get anywhere near 60 stock. I ripped out the garbage stock system and replaced it with a better system. More durable and More powerful. So that’s not “for nothing”.

60 isn’t bad. I have heavier cars going faster. The max 5 is an awesome setup, I have the 1100kv in my Mojave. It gets to About 70 but I’m on 25/50 and gp4 gears front and rear. In my personal opinion I’d stick with the 800lv for the XRT. Unless you’re trying to go fast. Ended up selling the XRT, was the biggest waste of money. Also, the guy in the first comment doesn’t know anything about this vehicle if he thinks it does 60 out of the box. Maybe it’ll hit 60 with a max 6,stock motor and huge fans. But not stock or even the speed gearing was I able to hit 60. It was 47mph stock and 54mph with speed gearing.
