Iverson, T-Mac, Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, Shaq, Nowitzki, Nash, Pierce, so on and so on...i would look forward to watching these guys as a kid on NBA on TNT or ESPN or even on ABC. I still watch the NBA now but it just feels so different without my guys. Especially my hero growing up, Allen Iverson. Kobe's last game really felt like a goodbye to my era. "Inflated stats" Meanwhile Michael Jordan plays in the 2nd lowest scoring era of NBA history 😂
@TheIcemanthomas7 ай бұрын
He also played in an era with illegal defense that allowed him to play one on one constantly. Only difference from today was that because guys coi don’t shoot as well and the spacing was so bad, the defense was at an extreme advantage not having to chase guys outside like today. The zone is legal now but it’s ineffective because Eveyone can hit a shot. So guys STILL get to play one on one. Same concept, different rules and diff😮environment. If guys could shoot back then like guys now, jordan would put up even more ridiculous numbers.

Thanks for the video. At 46:50, RIP to NBA’s greatest winner with 11 rings which can never be taken away. CONTEXT really does matter though. Bill Russell joining the Celtics in 1956 (the previous year’s 2nd seed) in an uncapped league of 8 teams and being fortunate enough to play with 12 Hall Of Famers just WEIGHS differently compared to a merged NBA-ABA league with a salary cap (which was reinstated back in 1984). I wouldn’t say Bill was exactly elite on offense, but he was surely great. Also, Robert Horry being brought up in GOAT debates because of his tally of 7 rings is just plain silly in my humble opinion… I love Big Shot Bob who was surely clutch and a valuable piece on those championship teams, but he was never an All Star, let alone an MVP. The GOAT is a great topic if people can keep it sensible. Boils down to an individual’s preference though. To each their own.

MJ was a menace, only 51 turnovers in 3 years
@BT4057 ай бұрын
It was only 126 games over those 3 years. So it was like 2.5 TOs per game. There was no play-by-play data so that guy literally had to go find all the footage and track it all himself. In reality it was a little less than half of all the games he played in those 3 years. But the stats are still insane tho. The playoffs are way easier to find so almost half of those 126 games are playoff performances. Bro was absolutely annihilating the postseason.

Bad Boy Pistons won a championship with essentially aggravated assault. Draymond would get thrown out way less. Three pointers were only taken by specialists. That's why Steve Kerr lasted as long as he did. The only reason he got to stay around on championship teams like the Bulls and Spurs is because he had a three ball, that was it. Not even a quarter of the league shot a consistent three ball, only specialists of the era. Because the game was so inside focused, it was not uncommon to see the paint completely clogged. Shaq said it best, there shouldn't be a GOAT debate because there will never be a definite answer. There will be a day where Jordan or LeBron is considered the GOAT then whoever replaced them will also be replaced in a foreseeable future. Ranking by era is the only way it makes it fair for ALL players.
