I can tell he wasn't given enough time to really do his thing on it. He still did far better than anyone they used when they rolled it out and that's a fact. The DJ808 is a dope machine and in the right hands it will be used more like a instrument vs. a controller. #salute Trayze!

The DJ-808 is probably the most compelling controller I've seen to date. Unfortunately, it's still a controller. I think a lot of us will be staying on DVS with MIDI controllers/mixers for a long time to come.
@Jedi_Jonson8 жыл бұрын
erratic_calm exactly! that controller is aimed more towards producers who dabble in djing but for someone like me who's strictly a Turntablist, a high level midi controller and 2 turntables and mixer will always be the preferred setup.
@RealDealy8 жыл бұрын
But that is exactly what the dj-808 is, you don't have to use it for production, BUT the option is there. That is a steal to me. I remeber having to buy everything at different times, and spending WAYYYY more money then what the dj-808 is worth. This thing is a blessing!

It is DVS compatible though, phono and line pre-amps on channels 1/2.

I hear what you saying. I have a Numark NVII & I like it a lot but my next purchase are 2 Stanton STR8-150 turntables and the Pioneer DJM-S9. I like this video though. I think the Roland DJ-808 is cool & all but it's a little gimmicky in my opinion. I see why people like it but I wouldn't pay money for it. I make my beats using my DAW and I just load them into the NVII and do what I do. It's all good though. Can't wait to put in work on the tables again. I plan on having my DVS setup here before the Spring.

Jim Ligon that's what's up man I have a pair of Stanton t92s and they are fantastic I think they are just as good/ slighty better than the classic 12s.

Im guessing he didn't have a ton of time to play with this thing before they made the video. Still......he looks a bit uncomfortable on it for sure. I think we're just used to seeing him kill it on his preferred set-up.

maybe some video sync issues - also I had the fader down/over cueing scratches. I noticed this too!

This happens on my left deck too... can see the track play. As hes manipulating platter. Not his fault. Wish the controller was more reliable

When you're used to DJing on DVS (vinyl) and then you get stuck with a controller using Sync, it takes a lot of the fun out of it all.

So this happens to almighty Trayze too? @3:59 I always forget to turn off the echo before scratching in next song! But the resulting unexpected result doesn't sound bad either..
