Thanks for sharing TR. Agree that the lighter colour appears to brighten up the space. You seem to really like the natural bamboo wood window shades however they appear to allow a lot of light to ‘seep’ and I’m sure you must get an accompanying shake and rattle from them as you rambler down the highway and on off roads. Nice spruce up job; always nice to freshen a living space! You should be getting ready to unplug from shore power and exercise your solar system in some fresh air! Looking forward to another talk from the cockpit!

Great Job!! Is there a reason you decided on Enamel paint vs the other choices? I'm not sure how it works on foam brushes but I wrap my paint brush bristles with a piece of aluminum foil and stick it in the freezer. No matter how long I leave it in there it's always ready. Thanks, Rick. I did but it was not obvious. The control was just fine (*no sanding or scuffing) but since I was scrubbing all the walls I used the scuff pad to scrub them. Hey TR! New subscriber here! Planning to paint my RV walls soon. When we pulled off the wall paper boarder some of the behind wall paper bubbled up, and some peeled off. What would you use to patch these spots before painting? To make sure we have a completely smooth surface to paint.
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 3 жыл бұрын
I would sand them with some 120 paper and if there are still divots you can fill them with a flexible wall patch like this: amzn.to/3wX4njJ You want to use flexible because the walls of your RV flex as it rolls down the road and using flexible patch will help stop it cracking.

@@trbowlin yeah im thinking wall, insulation, frabic with velcro. That way i can wash the walls like i do the drapes. Im a total newbie. What do you think of reflexive bubble wrap? How toxic is it to breathe? Do you like how your walls turned out?
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 4 жыл бұрын
Are you sandwiching the bubble wrap and fabric. That would probably work but you should be sure and use pre-washed or pre-shrunk fabric or the first time you wash it your going to be disappointed! I have bubble wrap in my windows now prepping for the hot weather to come here in Tucson and I am not aware of any issues with bubble wrap. It's just shiny Mylar over bubble wrap. Plastic so I can't think of any reason to be concerned.

I have a 2000 Kountry Star and there are less than 5 bad spots in the wallpaper. I no longer have the stamina for that kind of project and I prefer wall paper and would want to replace that. I have replaced every incandescent and fluorescent lamp in the RV (even the bays below) with 4,000. K LED lamps and strips. The "reliefs" at the edges of windows serve a purpose and you should have kept/recovered them. I prefer the original "two shade" blinds. The audio levels were extremely inconsistent. Ron W4BIN
@trbowlin

I'm not sure what you mean by reliefs at the edge of the window.
@W4BIN
@W4BIN 4 жыл бұрын
@@trbowlin I meant the "angled" pieces of upholstered plywood at each edge of the original shades/blinds that keeps the sun from streaming past the blinds/shades at large angles (the incoming light becoming nearly parallel to the side of the RV) If you are trying to keep the sun out, they are vary helpful depending on what angle the RV is parked. Such streams of light can ruin TV or computer watching, at times. Ron W4BIN
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 4 жыл бұрын
@@W4BIN Oh yea, those dang valences. I thought about recovering them and took one apart. The 1000 staples quickly changed my mind. I figured I could rebuild them if I needed but so far I haven't really had any problems. I allowed for a 1" overlap on the blinds and that seems to have eliminated light leaking around the edges. I was also worried that they might bounce around on the window not being held in by the valance rolling down the road. So far that has not been a problem.

The RV I bought unfortunately was painted by the previous owner(she chose a mustered piss yellow for half the walls 😭) so I bought new paint to go over it and now doing research on best ways to go about it because her paint looks terrible on that very smooth flat surface, her coverage was terrible and brush strokes everywhere. I got a premium paint and nice brushes/rollers so I hope the paint turns out more consistent than her attempt, I wish she never painted in the first place lol.
