I recently borrowed a TRC apocalypse. I’m probably gonna have to make a deal on it. I love it. Super awesome for sure

Beautiful! Beautiful! Mere words don’t do a tool like that justice!

You're words: perfection, flawless, memorizing, don't do these models justice. I'm not sure there is a word to rightly describe the magnificence of quality, fit, and finish of the total package. I, also, wanted one for a long time, and recently got one from 2019, with black micarta and apocalyptic finish. It immediately became the king of my collection! Nothing else even comes close! I got the South Pole a few months back; and when I held it in my hand, and saw the quantity of it, I HAD to get the apocalypse. Awesome table review!

Excellent video. I have been looking high and low for a primary blade for a long time and now I'm in deep lust. The Apocalypse is it. Gonna have to save for awhile to make it mine though. Thanks for bringing it out.

This Will wprk as a great primary but another company to check out is survive knives!
@Tligtryit11 ай бұрын
Really nice knife! Very well made. It supposed to have great edge retention and it’s supposed to be difficult to sharpen. Because elmax is such a hard steel. Nice video!

TRC knives are absolutly awesome, the fit and finish ist perfect, simply top notch. I own the Apocalypse, South Pole (three: Standard, Apocalypse finish and 10th Anniversary), Mille Cuori and Classic Freedom Full Flat. I love them all but the South Pole the most (the standard is my most used EDC, I put a secondary convex edge on the blade and it's simply awesome).
@topfueljunkie10011 ай бұрын
On your modified South Pole, where did your final apex angle land if you had to guess? Did you make it thinner than the factory edge by knocking off the shoulder and blending the primary grind right down to the apex or did you just blend the factory angle with the primary (just rounding out the shoulder some)? That's exactly what I had considered doing with mine as I wanted to thin the edge out. I just wondered how the Elmax holds up if the edge is thinned out from the factory by a decent bit. Factory behind the edge thickness is about .027 inches on mine and I wanted to get that down to say .015-.018, .020 max. Final apex angle at say 15-17° per side. I just hope it wouldn't make it too weak and chippy, but it's a smaller blade so I'd sure think it'd be fine if I'm not getting crazy with it like purposely pounding it through hard stuff and applying lateral force to the edge. I've got an Apocalypse incoming as well and since that's reported to be .036 behind the edge, I wanted to blend that into a convex as well so long as it's not detrimental to the level of edge strength my uses require. .036 seems a bit thick to me and I'd have preferred .025 to .030 max. Please correct me if I'm wrong on behind the edge thickness on the Apocalypse. The Mille Cuori though, that thing is about perfect and I love that thing!

@@topfueljunkie100 Raised 2.5 mm from the cutting edge on both sides and rounded to a secondary convex edge. Freehand with a 400 grit diamond plate, then 1000 grit ceramic stone, finish with a 5000 grit ceramic stone and end finish with a leather strop with 0.25 micron diamond compound. The cutting edge is scary sharp, cuts like hell and no problems with the edge stability. I hope it helps you.

Imho If someone is going to spend this kind of money once,he should get the Mille Cuori or its younger brother,the M1XDP. Survive Knives GSO 4.7 and the TRC Mille Cuori,are the best belt knives you can get. No other comes close.
@topfueljunkie10011 ай бұрын
I agree on the Mille Cuori! (don't have a Survive! knife). Such a great knife! Probably one of, if not THE, most favorite knife in my entire collection. I have a Carothers Basic 5 I want to pit against it in a test to see what I think. That's a nice knife as well and with that delta 3v steel, it should hold up excellently.

I bought a TRC K1-S to go with the Apocalypse. The only issue with the Apocalypse is its too think behind the edge and NEEDS to be either thinned out or convexed. I did the same to the K1-S, they take an amazing edge. The heat treat is second to none. Should have a TRC Speed Demon in the mail Thursday.

Everyone wants to buy one. Not for the poors though.
@TheSpoovy12 күн бұрын
@@Aaron-pb5xy I'm certainly not poor, and I don't want to buy one. American knives like this have become fashionista items, overhyped steels and deliberately exclusionary prices just to make them more desirable. Go to Saturn, Lionsteel, Joker etc and you'll get basically the same thing for 1/3 the price.
