Fun fact: Carnivac's head is a separate part on a square plinth the same shape as a mushroom peg. Which means that if you wanted to get in there and sand down the corners, you (I) could (did) totally give him a head swivel. This also works on Catilla, Rotorstorm and Snaptrap, which then also means Piranacon. An easy mod that's well worth it.

Do not forget that Octopunch awakened a sleeping god, dooming most of the Transformers to a gruesome death. That's kind of an impressive feat.

Iguanus was my first Pretender, which I got from a highschool teacher who was getting rid of a bunch of toys. I'm incredibly fond of it, and it's what made me love Pretenders so much to this day.

If you continue collecting Pretenders, I can say that Gunrunner is *inexplicably* enjoyable. Arguably the worst inner robot alt mode, but oh, that vehicle is the utter pinnacle of "1980s toy action car". The pom-pom gun motion is sublime. It feels like a M.A.S.K. vehicle that defected to Transformers.

I really like the metal wolf being hidden in a normal one. It feels like the inspiration for Beast Wars, where the organic layer coats the metal, making it an actual disguise especially in G1 where everyone else’s beats modes are sad excuses for the real thing!

I very much wish I had Carnivac's outer shell. The shell itself isn't too expensive, but _both_ shoulder pads AND the tail!? Might as well send a kid to college with that money. Also, I choose to believe his name is short for Carnival Vacuum.

Iguanus is last inner robot I need to complete my collection. as of right now, I only have 11 of the basic Pretenders inner robots sitting on my desk. Even though the Alt Modes can lack...eh...coherency, they make nice little desk toys. You can pick one up, change it in less than a second, play around with it and just take a refreshing break from the grind of life. No panels to line up, no close tolerances to maintain, Just little breaks from adult life that are full of, as you so rightfully coined, FIDDLE FACTOR. Great little review.

The Deceptions, I feel, win when it comes to Pretenders. Yeah, sure, for the most part, the Autobots follow the motif of "pretending" a little more accurately, with their spacesuit humanoid disguses. But the 'Cons do it with style and are more intresting. You get reptile men, demons, insectoids, sea mosters, and skeleton samurais. There is so much going on.

You can probably repaint the new turtles of gr-yskull samurai skeletor and make said figure into bludgeon colours. Then repaint origins jitsu/chopper's sword silver with a gold or bronze handguard and give said weapon to your new bludgeon figure. Though you might want to top coat it so the paint doesn't rub off. Varnish might work.

such a shame we never got a carnivac remold out of titans weirdwolf, but with the recent batch of these guys in legacy i really hope we get more, the shells made a terrible gimmick imo but the designs are top notch, the new iguanus is probably the best example of doing it justice in modern form
