Firstly, Eminem is not my favorite rapper. And it’s his album Relapse:Refill that I consider his actual masterpiece, and my fav of his catalogue. But this? This (along with his Doctors Orders verse) is my favorite Eminem verse of all time. This whole song is 🔥, have always loved it. Big Wayne fan from way back. All of them were either elite or on the rise at this time. But Em was just on a whole other thing here, something up in the stratosphere. He had something to prove again I think, and he was gonna prove it and was out to leave no doubters of his skills. He is rapping here like his life literally depended on it. Those Hannibal Lector bars are just disgusting in the absolute best way. And his lyrical prowess here is staggering; not only is he saying dope ish here, but his cadence and melodic tone inflections and intricate multi syllabic rhyming pattern of entire sentences, internal rhyme schemes and rhyme schemes that go through the entire verse makes it just a masterclass in rap, and it’s all brutal and very in your face lyrically. THIS time period, to this day, is the best Eminem would ever be.
