bro, does L really believe what misa says? isnt he thinking how misa convinced higuchi that she's the second kira? He can ask the time of their date and it would match the death of that guy misa killed to convince higuchi and it would totally makes sense because how else would misa can provethat she's the second kira unless she kills a person

Misa told L that higuchi wanted her to be his wife. Higuchi can be convinced that Misa was the second kira because she was detained once by L. L can't possibly know if the guy's death has anything to do with misa's date, as higuchi could've have killed that guy as proof in front of misa.

And most importantly, L can think that higuchi has no need to believe misa is the second kira. Through the investigation coil conducted, it's clear that Misa would be indebted towards kira for avenging her parents. Misa even says so herself. Kira revealing himself to a super hot girl who's infactuated with kira isn't unbelievable. That was why L didn't ask for confirmation.
