The Freebeat Lit Bike not only has a unique look, but the content definitely makes it stand out. The trainer-led classes are filmed indoors and seem typical to what you see with subscription cycling classes, nowadays. It isn’t until you start a class that you experience the fun twist.
Each cycling class is gamified for you to earn points by riding to the beat of the music. Every class has a unique, curated playlist, and you’re given specific cadence targets to hit during your ride. You’re scored on how close you hit the cadence targets with your pace, and your score is then placed on a leaderboard for you to compete against other members. Keep in mind that your metrics like distance and watt output aren’t displayed during class. They are shown in the Just Ride mode though.
Keep in mind that you do need to subscribe to Freebeat’s content to use the touch screen on the Freebeat Lit Bike and take classes. The classes are on-demand and the majority offered are cycling. There are sculpting and stretching, but the number of these classes is more limited. Freebeat adds cycling classes regularly which definitely helps keep the content fresh.
Another way to earn more points is by riding out of the saddle. There is a sensor in the saddle that detects your movement. The resistance is also automated to adjust for you based on the instructor’s cues, but you can adjust the bike yourself anytime using the resistance knob.
The Freebeat Lit Bike on its own is of great quality, too. While the content is definitely the highlight and my favorite aspect of this bike, we’re pleased to report that the Lit Bike is stable and feels comparable to other models on the market.
It handles users up to 300 lbs and can be adjusted for users as short as 4’11”. I’m 5’1” and I have plenty of room to work with when adjusting the seat and handles. Our tallest reviewer who is 6’5” wished the seat went a little higher.
The handles aren’t my favorite, but they suffice for long-distance riding. My hands don’t feel fatigued or uncomfortable, I just wish they had a horizontal bar for more grip options. The seat is surprisingly comfortable despite its minimal padding, and the pedals have toe cages to accommodate any athletic shoe.
Overall, we really like the Freebeat Lit Bike. It’s stable, comfortable, and quiet. The content is engaging and really fun. If you’re looking for fun trainer-led cycling classes, or just like the idea of playing games while you ride, you should check out the Freebeat Lit Bike.
