The small yellow piece in the box is not a battery but a pointer. You can swap the main coil with the pointer for deeper and narrow search.

I was gifted one of these metal detectors as a thanks for locating a cell phone in a lake this summer. I have to say they work pretty good. It’s pretty exciting to feel that thing buzz in your hand while digging for treasure, filled my whole fishing tacklebox using this!

I spent a few hours with that exact model at a lake here in NH. It's very well made, excellent battery life. Poked around an area used for dive certifications and where people often fish. Found a handful of sinkers, lures. Plus two pennies oldest was 1980s near the shore. Also found an unfired rifle round. Markings indicated it was from before WWII. Thanks for the video.
