They have a huge selection of toys including figures... whether they're ones that are worth picking up is another story. They've had a number of really cool Marvel Legends lots over the years, including an Age of Apocalypse X-Men set, and it's always cool to check those out

My go-to spot has always been the Near Mint Condition Discord, but that's only accessible with Patreon (totally worth it and Omar is a great dude). BJ Kick's Comics Are Dope Discord recently added an Ollie's Channel that's been really good and that's a free Discord, for free access I'd go for that. Plus, Kicks is awesome and the server is totally worth joining on its own

No Ollies around me... nearest on is hour and half away. When I drive pass I normally stop there, but its rare. They always was picked over but I still dream about running into that omnibus... less so about the absolute because I try to dodge that rabbit hole. Haven't picked one up quite yet.

I go to Ollie’s about once a month to check for comics and not once have I ever seen an omnibus or Absolute. I have found 4 or 5 deluxe editions over the years those that were just a few bucks which was awesome.

Joining online groups that track Ollie's stock has been really helpful for that. Not every Ollie's gets things at the same time, but most inventory is shared across stores. If someone is posting about books they've found at theirs, that usually means mine either has them or will be getting them shortly. They do go fast when they're there

I have gotten so many great deals at Ollie’s I would love to have found that Moon Knight Omnibus. I did get the GIANT Avengers Vibranium Edition there one time. Some recent great finds for me were DC Absolute of Justice League New 52 and Wonder Woman by Azzarello Vol 1. There are many times that I find nothing that I want, but every now and then I find something really good or a huge haul of stuff. I only get hardcovers now because I have found their stickers impossible to remove from trades without residue staying behind.

I don't know what Ollie's puts in their stickers but nothing loves a goopy mess like an Ollie's sticker. That's awesome you were able to grab that Avengers Vibranium edition, I remember a few years ago people saying those were popping up, kept hoping to find that or especially the Marvels Platinum edition by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross but no luck on either

I enjoy going to discount stores when I have the time. You never know what you'll find. That said, there is an Ollie's near me and I've never shopped in there. Maybe that will have to be a trip I take soon.

They're so fun! I think people post on the Omnidog Discord when they find some things at Ollie's, but even when you have no idea what you're looking for, it's still fun to walk in and see the random assortment they got in that week

I'm in AZ and there are no Ollie's close. I visited Michagan a while back and I was close-ish to one so I had to go and check it out. Didn't find any white whales, but got some HC's and trades that I hadn't seen. I do enjoy the hunt! It's fun scouring the shelves and bins!

Glad you got to join in the fun on your trip to Michigan! We went to Upstate Michigan this summer (Traverse City and Luddington) and loved it, now just need to get enough time to do some comic hunting! When I lived in Denver we had 2nd & Charles which wasn't like Ollie's but still had some great finds, not sure if they extend down to AZ but CO is closer!

There's no real rhyme or reason that I've found, it really seems like they get in inventory just whenever they pick up new lots. I'm in a few online groups that track Ollie's Comic sightings across the country, that's been really helpful for cutting down on wasted Ollie's trips for me

Depends which shelf, the one on the left of the video is a Billy Bookcase from Ikea. The one on the right side is one I made myself, super heavy duty for my omnis. The color comes from the Linseed oil stain I used as a finisher.

If you've never encountered an Ollie's sticker, they're ultra sticky. When they aren't just on the shrink-wrap, you basically have to set some time aside with a hair dryer, some type of thin scraper, then a dilute Dawn soap and water combo applied with a Q-tip to avoid a sticky mess where the sticker was. Because it's such an ordeal, I usually just wait until I have a bunch of them and spend an hour or so removing them en masse.

@bunkmastab Okay, fair enough. Goo Gone is a fantastic product for stuff like that - I've never had it effect comic covers, but don't get it on raw pages or it could discolour them.

Nice video, Bunk. The closest thing to my knowledge here is McKays. I’ve bought some Alan Moore hardbacks of Tom Strong, and Top Ten way before finally released a compendium of those series. I’ve also bought movies and old anime series. All of which would normally break the bank. I’ve also bought some great Nes and SNES games there.

I'm always happy to check out retro video game stores, especially for SNES games. It seems like thankfully the retro games market has started to cool down and those are affordable again, but there was a time in my life where I was hitting flea markets once a month looking for old games. Always looking for treasure!

Interesting to see what your Ollie's has compared to what made it here. You know, I DO pick up those "Show Me History" graphic novels at Ollie's. Odd that the individual books are $1.99, but the three-packs are $7.99. I guess there is a $2 price hike for the actual box they come in. 🤷‍♂ They had two Absolute Justice Leagues at mine a few weeks ago, but I had to pass on it. I already had them in TPB format and upgraded to HC and the omnibus. Realized I just couldn't justify having so many copies of the same content in different formats with the limited space I have here. 😐 I have never seen the Absolute Superman for Tomorrow or Green Arrow at mine. I don't think they had Wonder Woman at mine before, either. I DID grab Absolute Promethea Vol. 2 and one of the Batman/Superman collections before. I have one of the Ms. Marvel OHCs, Hellfire Gala and X of Swords... but never saw the others at mine. Never seen any Mark Waid Daredevil either, though I have those in omnibus format now. I JUST got that Joker/Harley black label book. Got Killer Smile maybe 2 years ago. I do have Long Halloween Noir, but never saw the Unwrapped book (though we have a Flash Unwrapped one that randomly appears from time to time). I did grab Night Eaters and removing that price sticker left a huge sticky spot on the cover. Never saw Rusty Brown or Bix (though I found Rusty at Hamilton Books a couple years ago). I did grab a couple copies of Soulwind (one copy to detach the glued binding so I could actually read it). I have the Squirrel Girl figure. Haven't seen Boom Boom. Most of what we have here are Eternals and some Shang-Chi stuff. You definitely have more Power Rangers loot at your Ollie's. We have a pink Power Ranger car set, though.

To get the sticky residue off just use a cotton face cloth. Rubs right off.

The Absolute Green Arrow and For Tomorrow were years ago in the pre-NMC Discord days. Absolute Green Arrow was worth getting, Absolute For Tomorrow ... has pretty pictures from Jim Lee! Boom Boom was another one from way back, picked it up along with an Iron Man that was different color than normal and an Outback Years Wolverine. For the Power Rangers figures, the monster packs were from a few years ago, but the double figures packs I'm pretty sure I posted on NMC when I found them. Think I've got every Power Rangers Lightning Collection figure that's come around

Nice grabs! Mine didn't get any of the Adamantium/Vibranium big books or the Kirby is Fantastic that I saw some other shops got. We're also usually at least a week behind what I see pop up at other shops, so I think mine probably miss a fair amount, I just try to stay happy about the stuff we do get
