Treasure Signs, Symbols, and Petroglyph Maps

A combo-platter of treasure signs and symbols, with a side of petroglyph maps. After some opening comments and a couple shout-outs, I dive into a variety of books with symbol diagrams in them, then get on to the good stuff: a free-form speed run of a bunch of personal pics from the field. Mine markers, shrines, dolmens, compass rocks, an arrastre, ambush sites, petroglyphs, monuments - heck, even a dragon or dinosaur looking petroglyph. Many of these are near known gold mines, along old trails like the Butterfield or Jornada del Muerto (journey of the dead man, BTW - El Aleman), or in locations rich in legend and lore. I have a ton more, but this is a healthy cross-section worthy of a look.

Great video. I'm very glad I watched it. I started treasure hunting last summer and happened across a Calvary Cross with Roman Numerals (XXV) next to it ingraved into a Sandstone Amphitheater in the middle of nowhere that were in the book that you referenced. Now I have a better idea of what I'm looking at. I have some great photos.

My old friend and astronomy professor spent a lot of time in the four corners region and we did a program on native American astronomical sites. Looks like a lot of stuff he showed me from Chaco Canyon. He and his students built a medicine wheel at VCSU up near an Indian burial ground above the Sheyenne River.

I saw some old interesting symbols 3 days ago in a canyon by the Colorado River close to the Hoover Dam. They were 2 different kinds. some were petroglyphs, some looked Spanish. I think some were treasure symbols. I took several photos. It is in a gold bearing area.

The book I got the Native-drawn map from is "The Threads of Memory El Hilo De La Memoria Spain and the United States Espana y los Estados Unidos". It was published after a traveling exhibit of material from Spain's Archivo General de Indias came through the US. I saw the exhibit in 2011 in El Paso - twice. It was amazing to see original documents, kept from the public for hundreds of years, just inches away. Original journals of Conquistadores, battle plans listing mixed troops, huge maps with trails nobody really talks about, and more. The original journal with the first drawing of a "Vaca Fea" - a bison or Cibloa cow, sketches of coastlines used as navigational aids, and on and on. This book comes nowhere near the exhibit itself, but is a worthy reference that even has a picture of the document handing power over New Mexico to Don Pedro de Peralta from Juan de Onate in 1609.

Also by the way the two crosses it don't mean that there was a third one .. because they were already had pinpont printed.. and diffrent aims .. with one to a burial for a loved one .. and there belongings .. good luck..be careful..

Agree. Circle-dot has been a symbol for the Sun and Gold forever. In science (astronomy), it is still the symbol for Sol. In treasure lore, Kenworthy and others ascribe a different meaning. I am not sure I agree with them.

Ahhh, I recall something in Tony's Gap. What I recall is a stagecoach accident on the West side, probably 1.5 miles down from the pass. Also, there is an old road, coming from the Cruces side, that cuts SE on the E side of the pass. The depression is obvious. Walked it one time. Found WW1 stripper clips within 5 minutes. Lots of WW1 stuff in southern New Mexico, West Texas. Even before that, Pancho Villa stuff on HWY 9. You got a lot to check out down there. The cave south of Tony's pass is interesting (but caged off, IIRC). There's also a plane crash near there. Small white and green private prop plane. To the East before the cave.

Do your own work and take pictures. The camera will see things 600 times better than you. Time of day, shadows, and of course some old miners sayings will guide you. But it will be buried under 60 feet of rocks and dirt when you find it lol.
