Help me .....I am going to make a journal .....I don't understand why u add the papers that come outta a book or even the music sheets or pictures. Do I write on them or is it for looks ???
@pistolannie6500 Жыл бұрын
looks... part of the "treasure" to find within. such as making pockets thru out and filling them things like... vintage cards, recipe cards, trivia cards, a nice poem folded up and placed inside an envelope...U could also cut off Strips of the musical notes and glue it on to a blank page for decoration.. Or use as background FOR a Blank piece of paper. maybe tear and ink the edges of the blank paper u want to write on. 😊

My my goodness- I watched every single second of this entire process. You are my biggest inspiration of how I want to approach junk journaling ... but ... I’ve purchase SO many printables and wishing I had started out with more of an organic style. That said, it’s never too late. I will implement more and more this style and will eventually stop buying printables. Thank you, Natasa... you’re one of the great ones, in my opinion xo

"I WANT TO BE WILD AND FREE LIKE THE SEA 🌊 🎶 ✨️" Darling Natasha, perhaps you don't realize that your wild and free waves have lapped upon the shores of Michigan! Do you know you've changed my life? Your sweet, lyrical, easy-going commentary so freely providing artistic details has inspired my creativity and lifted me out of a SEVEN YEAR DEPRESSION? I lost my Mama and myself, and now through your tutorials, I am creating memory books, recipe books, family tradition books, and JOY! I AM CREATING JOY AGAIN THANKS TO YOU, DARLING NATASHA❣️ I apologize for all caps, but I'm not sure how long ago this gem was made (thank you for specifically showing me HOW to use the journal to PLAY) and I feel it's important you realize your "I dunno. Doesn't matter. It's not perfect but that's ok. I'm not sure if I like it but that's what we're going with." and all your little sing-sing phrases of love and acceptance of things the way they are, the way they've fallen into place, and if we don't like it now, we might later, and if we still don't like it later, we can beautifully change it to our liking. 😊It may seem trite, but you have helped my little retired suburban housewife life in an unimaginable way. All of my curated things can be beautifully enshrined in a book made of junk mail for pennies. Thank you thank you thank you 🎉🎉🎉 😢 I'm not kidding, 7 years😢

@susanmyrick29135 жыл бұрын
Dear Natasa, No detail ever escapes you. This is soooo inspiring...especially the cover. Just a couple fyi's: your stitching around the sides of the cover is called whip stitch (don't ask me how I know that because I don't sew)and what you called "wall tape"...close. It is drywall tape to cover seams. Some call it Sheetrock or wallboard instead of drywall. Now how is that for totally useless trivia? Giving thanks this Thanksgiving in America for your kind spirit.
@TreasureBooks5 жыл бұрын
hehe Susan, thank you so much. I was calling it embroidery the whole time, and each time I would say it, I winced because I knew it was wrong, but just didn't know what else to call it. The wall tape - hehe, I knew it had the word "wall" in there somewhere. Thank you for giving me correct names, and its definitely not useless!!

Even though I'm not a beginner I still like to watch beginner videos because we can learn so much. I relly liked this video especially where you showed the used sticker backing with a pocket attached. THAT WAS verY creative. This was very informative and it has inspired me to be ruthless and rip out all kinds of pages from the magazines I'm about to recycle! I usually just close my eyes and drop it in the bin... you have some very unique ideas and I'm enjoying your tutorials. Thanks for sharing. Yes the junk journal with me sounds great!

I am doing your tutorial for the junk journal again about a year later. I have modified it slightly with different colors and used a mica spray to add a glazed finish to the cover. I’m quite pleased with the results! This is one of my favorite journal covers. I can’t wait to put it all together. I wish I could send you a picture of it! I love your tutorials! Thanks!

I have enjoyed this tutorial so much. Thank you for sharing. I can proudly say, after following your instructions, I have completed the cover. Ok it has taken me a week but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been a little distracted by watching some of your other videos and thinking ‘oh I can make that now’ lol. Now for the bookplate and organising my signatures. Xx😘

Brilliant, thank you - a great collab too! ... I love pretty digital/journal kits and our fancy tools, , but this really brings us back to what its about and still create something beautiful, unique, personal and a happy to 'play' in :) It can enable us to be more creative with what we have and I may even make a dent in the recycling pile collecting in the corner, which people think I'm 'nuts' for doing - to get excited about a piece of cardboard or tag, or string, wrapping etc etc lol! I would also love to see a true junk journal with me series :) PS would also be great, if its not too difficult, to get those great instructions as downloadables?? Thank you again ....

Thank you so much Megan! I will try to work out how to do the instructions as downloadables :) Great idea

I love how much detail you always put in your videos! This cover is also GORGEOUS (pardon my yelling 😜) I’ve been looking for prettier/ more interesting ways to use food boxes for journal covers, some of them are pretty on their own (those 5$+ chocolate bars) but others are kinda lame and there’s only so many times you can just glue fabric on it before you’re really dang bored with how all your journals look the same
@TreasureBooks5 жыл бұрын
Hehe yes I totally agree. If we keep on doing the same thing over and over, it gets so boring. Good to have a few different ways of making/embellishing a journal!

@@TreasureBooks Natasha I just subscribed today. I was watching something else and dropped the phone. When i picked it up it was on your channel. I fell In love with your books! When I saw the charm you got from the candy bar I was surprised. I had never seen a charm on any candy bar at all, now I need to look a lot closer for charms. However I do have two charms from an old pair of socks. I saved because of the charms but haven’t worn them in years. I’m gonna save the charms and toss the socks. Going to start saving the Kleenex boxes and old junk mail envelopes too. I’ve been so bored on lock down. I’m going to start a book today. BTW, I have a brand new bottle of Modge Podge. It’s all dried up. If I put water in it will it be good as new? Thank you for sharing. Wish you were in the USA!!!
