I think the mini plates are bread & butter plates. For a very formal setting the plate would go to the top right of the salad plate and have a butter florette and a dinner roll. At least from my catering experience (25yrs). Love your channel, new subscriber!❤

Yes In normal everyday settings the French don’t use side plates /bread plates . So these are formal French bread plates , for one bread roll .
