Simplicity really is a gift. I am going to concur with allot of the comments on this page that this tutorial is by far the easiest, simplest most straight up tutorial for bias tape. I watched one tutorial years ago in the early days of KZbin and it was so complicated and freaked me out with is complexity that it took me 15+ years to revisit making my own bias tape. Thanks so much.

Ive tried this method with other teachers and it always confounds me after cutting my square into two triangles. This video is perfectly done showing which sides go together and how to connect the parallelogram sides! Thank you soooooo much. It all makes sense now. I also appreciate the no talking. Sometimes talking just makes it worse. The use of hands and diagrams is awesome. I will be subscribing and watching more from you. :)

How do you figure what size square to start with for the amount of binding you need?
@treasurie6 жыл бұрын
Hi Judith, sorry I dont' have a quilt calculator on my site yet (added to my idea list!) but if you google quilt binding calculator there are a number of online calculators. It depends on the width of your strips and the amount of wastage. Smaller fabrics will have a greater percentage of wastage. I always use a minimum of a fat quarter size.
