This is brilliant! Thank you so much. It's even sorted out some questions that I didn't know I had. And provided a solution to a problem I've been having.

Thank you VERY much, Peter! This was quite helpful. I had to go back several times to be able to write down the description because it was only on the screen a short time 🥴

Thankyou Trisha, appreciate that. l will keep that in mind and have the descriptions remain on the screen a bit longer in the next one. 😊

My go to item is a rock tumbler. So that I can tumble glass and dishes to get rid of those crazy shsrp edges. I put warm water a cm above the loaded glass and a drop or 2 of dawn dishsoap, then tumble it for 15 minutes, then I put it in a strainer and rinse under hot water and spread out on a towel, to dry.❤

I'm looking for tools for stone. You mention the inland saw and hammer & hardie. Do you have any recommendations specifically for stone?
@TreasuryRoad2 күн бұрын
You may need a wet saw to cut the stone into rods and then use a Hammer and Hardie to cut it into tesserae. I would be contacting a mosaic retailer or specialist store that works with stone who can advise you on your specific needs. You could also create a post in a couple of the mosaic Facebook groups such as Mosaic Mentoring and Mosaics Australia Wide, there are artists that work with stone in those groups. Thankyou for watching. :)

Hi Peter, thanks for this helpful video. What about Dremel or rotary tools, parrot beak nippers, Seabell ceramic Scissors, MD Pro componud nippers 49943?
@TreasuryRoad Жыл бұрын
Thankyou so much Mozhdeh. The video wasn’t about different brands of the same tool, the QEP scissors are in there along with the compound nippers. The Dremel and the Parrot nippers will be added into part 2 l didn’t want to make a video with 70 tools in it in one sitting. Thanks very much for watching. 😊

is a Dremel useful in tile mosaics. If so what type would I get?
@TreasuryRoadАй бұрын
It really comes down to what you need to do and what you are working with in the way of tesserae. I personally don't have one however on my large outdoor gazing ball there are a few sharp edges that are protruding, it would be good to just give them a slight grind. But other than that I haven't needed one. Don't buy anything until you need to solve a problem or its going to speed up creating the mosaic. Some people use them for cutting cups and pots in half, for grinding edges down, there are many different attachments available. Thanks for watching. :)
