Treated for a rare corneal infection

Anjali Tiwari, a contact lens user for 21 years, developed a severe corneal infection leading to pain, watering and blurred vision. Alarmed, she consulted doctors locally at Bhopal. She would often cry out in pain and was forced to take a break from her teaching profession. Having received no respite, she visited LVPEI’s Tej Kohli Cornea Institute. Eye drops were prescribed to her to supress the rare infection that she had developed due to Acanthamoeba parasite. The improvement was immediate, but the bigger challenge was the unavailability of these drops in her city. So, her prescription was especially couriered to her from Hyderabad.
