That elephant was probably septic judging by the size of that infection. The little bit they did made no difference, that animal is probably dead now. There is no way to properly treat an animal with that type of wound and infection in the field. All these animal rescuers do is prolong the inevitable and try to make people feel better. They should of just put it down right there, it would of been more humane.

The real problem is not the elephants eating the crops, the problem is the loss of habitat due to farmers overpopulating without control and consequences for the horrifying and unimaginable atrocities they do to the poor animals. Great work. Such horrific wounds😢. I would be careful though to not use the same cotton swabs on different wounds. Here the tail wound was being cleaned and then the same used on the leg. Would definitely use clean ones. That little push at the end to give the elephant a boost and help to get it up was cute😂. Wonder if it helped❤

Humans are encroaching on elephant habitat....not the other way around. So it's up to humans to respect the needs of the wildlife and give them their space. As well as not actively trying to kill the elephants! Laws need to be in place and vigorously enforced for any cruelty or harm to the elephants. It was their land first.

I am sick of seeing these magnificent animals found with gunshot wounds. I would love to find the people responsible for such inhumane actions. To cure the problem, maybe an Iranian treatment for thieves would be proper..."Amputation of the full length of four fingers of the right hand of the thief in such a manner that the thumb and palm of the hand remain." Seems to me that the incident count would slow, if not be eliminated entirely.

People are more important than other animals. It is not reasonable and perhaps not even sane to suggest that farmers and other people should be moved out of the elephants: territory. Any successful outcome should include management of the elephant population. Also those involved should be accurate about the elephant population and the size of its territory to determine if the really is habitat loss or if the elephants are simply enlarging their territory. There are deer where I live that people might think are losing habitat because of all the building. But the deer have increased their territory, as have two different species of hawks, coyotes, turkeys, armadillos and other animals that one never saw around here when I was a child.
