I'm glad you talked about your migraine. I relate to that feeling so much. The Portrait of The Artist As Filipino sounds so interesting. I love that the painting is hidden.

Exams have kept me super busy and I miss reading terribly 💔 I ended up splurging on a second-hand set of sixteen penguin books which consists mostly of Dickens, Austen, Hardy, Eliot, and Gaskell lol I’m super excited to do this !

Hi there, Katie I just wanted to stop by and say how much I admire your dedication and passion for books. Your content is always so engaging and inspiring! In fact, I recently featured your channel in a video on my own BookTube channel, highlighting some of the most amazing creators in the community-and, of course, you had to be on that list! 😊 Thank you for everything you do to make BookTube such a vibrant and welcoming space. Keep up the incredible work-you’re making such a difference in the bookish world! Warm regards, Kris (from SmartBookWorms)

Apparently conveying migraines to non-sufferers is not possible, so I'll just send my hopes it's abated for now and the foreseeable future. As for me: finished The Chimes, Cold Coffee and Time War; listening to Never Let Me Go, with Klara and the Sun scheduled as next before East of Eden; on Kindle is a French/English version of Verne's Center of the Earth, with Welle's Time Machine closing out the list for the year. Have a very happy Holiday, both you and Nick!

I also enjoyed reading A History of Anglo-Saxons. Marc Morris has a writing style that is easy to read and not boring. I also get migraines and my doctor prescribed a medication called sumatriptan. The migraine will clear in about 40 min. I'm currently reading Wuthering Heights and enjoying it. Happy reading! 😊

Yes, I've been prescribed Sumatriptan, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I often take Migraleve for migraines, and that's usually pretty effective for me, but I can't take it on an empty stomach, so if I wake up with a migraine, I sort of have to just wait it out, which is no fun! Ah well. Enjoy Wuthering Heights :)

Really enjoyed hearing about the Philippino work. I lived there for several years and collect works from there....Gina Apostol is current fave. There is something quite surreal about the whole culture that comes through in their literature! Just ordered this!📚📚📚📚😍

I like to think that even on so-called non productive days that on a subconscious level something constructive is happening. Very rarely I've had skull crunching pains,so I hope listening about yours doesn't bring them on!😂❤

Katie, I believe you play the piano. Is it you playing the piano music in the reading interval background?

Alas, no! I can play the piano, but certainly not that well. I used to play a lot more when I was younger.

Hi Katie! I'm not a BookTuber or anything, but I'd like to propose a prompt for next year's Victober: Royal Geographical Society. The Victorian era was of course also an age of exploration and scientific advancement, and there are a lot of terrific books by explorers, from Charles Darwin to Sir Richard Francis Burton, Sir Richard Owen - the paleontologist behind the famous Iguanodon statue at the Crystal Palace. Also a LOT of female explorers, such as Isabella Bird, Gertrude Bell, and Mary Kingsley. Can I propose this prompt for consideration?
