Hey Tim. Thank you for explaining. I live in SC and it gets warmer here quickly, but I put Formic Acid for the first time this year in the spring. One hive did well with the option 2, but my strongest colony with my best queen was killed after the treatment. I was thinking next time to cage my queen to see if that will help. I love watching your videoes and I love the fact you keep it real.

I am new to Beekeeping.... I need to treat 2 hives and the 10 day forecast is high 80s low 90s. What should I do? I am south of Portland, OR and it has been pretty warm for a little while now. I'm a little worried now that I have found mites. Please talk me down 🙏

Do you do another formic treatment 30 days after the last?

What was your queen loss with the 3 strip treatment?

How old would you recommend your queen be when treating with Formic Pro? I have 3 hives. One hive has a queen which is about 2 months old and the other 2 have a queen which is a couple of weeks old (should start laying eggs any day now-one of which was a thin split from the other hive because there were a bunch of queen cells so both of these hives have brand new queens raised by the hive). I will need to treat in August, Ohio weather permitting. I bought 10 treatments of Formic Pro already. I really don’t want to lose my queens, though, and all hives have already been recouping from being queenless this summer. ...I have no idea what I’m doing...

Good video, did you test for mites or did you assume or know you had mites before treating. Im local and wonder about the mite load of local colonies. Thanks and keep up the good work.

What if you have just single deep brood boxes with supers above? 1 or 2 strips on the brood? Would 1 strip on the brood and 1 strip on the next super up work? Thanks
