Can it be used for pinewood dining table top? Will hot food in a metalic plate/vessel get stuck?

so we use a different blend from the same company. it's a mix of beeswax and linseed oil. we've had better success with the clear stuff. We install it in shelves in kitchens and restaurants all the time with success. it wipes on with a clean rag which is kind of cool. IDK how it would do with a pan right off the stove, but it's pretty durable. Here's the stuff: www.earthandflax.com/product-page/viking-purified-linseed-oil-wax

Man I really wanted to support Earth & Flax. But $400 shipping to Montana for a few gallons is INSANE.

Yea, that is a bummer. We’re spoiled by having them so close. I’d imagine there’s other vendors closer to you!

Buy any natural pine tar, linseed oil and turpentine. Mix 1/3 ratio. Paint on any wood on sunny and warm days. Easy peasy.

is the heating of the pine tar/oil mix necessary? I see it in the application instructions but you didn't do that.. I'm planning to pine tar/oil our cedar siding for a new build but it I don't need to heat it up, that will make less prepping.. thanks for any info you can provide.

How many coats of of this combination product should you use? just 1? should you let the first dry and then go over again?
@GreenBuildingNetwork2 ай бұрын
sorry for the delay. we did two initially, I think we probably should have done 4. the wood was thirsty and we're going to have to reapply more coats this season

Does it have to be Raw Linseed Oil or can I use Boiled Linseed oil?
@GreenBuildingNetwork4 ай бұрын
Check out this link. Quick summary, raw is the most natural. Boiled has a bunch of additives! vermontwoodsstudios.com/blogs/recent-articles/raw-vs-boiled-vs-polymerized-linseed-oil#:~:text=The%20difference%20between%20raw%20linseed,option%20for%20finishing%20wood%20furniture.
