Treatment For Alopecia/Fur Loss in hamsters | Cosmic Hamsters
About a week and a half ago I noticed Comet had these weird patches on his lower back/bottom area. So I booked him in at the vets.
Fur loss can be caused by quite a few things:
Bad diet, stress, mites, rubbing against something constantly, allergies etc.
So although I am not 100% sure what happened in Comet's case, (spoiler alert :)) I do think he has improved.
I just wanted to share, to bring you up to speed what we have been going through.
Hopefully it may help someone else going through something similar.

I have purposely not mentioned the medication or dosage as I understand it can be quite toxic and should be prescribed by a vet. I do not want to encourage people to buy over the counter and buy/administer the wrong strength or too much medicine, harming their hamster.

What cage is that and how many square inches is it?

This is the Zoozone large cage. It's 100 X 51 cm. . Approx 790 sq inches
