Bri, would you mind watching your Dad's video of when he took Buffy to the Vet, please? From this video, it is apparent that your Dad misunderstood the Vet who specifically told him to quarantine Buffy so that only horses who were symptomatic were to be kept with her! She told him that all horses who had been exposed, but, who were asymptomatic needed to be kept away from Buffy and not to let Buffy even touch noses with any other horses. She also told him to not let Buffy share food and water bowls with other horses. Perhaps he misunderstood because he was so worried about Buffy that he didn't really hear her directive to him! I'd highly recommend that you wear medical gloves when working with Buffy and that you change your clothes before touching your horses. I don't want to see any of the other horses or cows on the Hill get sick. I say all this in love and out of great concern for all the horses, donkeys, and cows on Morrow Hill!

I agree with everything you say. Buffy should be in quarantine. Dan loves Buffy so much and was so very concerned about her health when he took her to the vet that he found it hard to listen and take in and absorb everything that the Vet was telling him. Brie watching the video would be a very good idea to get all the information she needs to look after Buffy. Bree is an amazing help to her father and everyone else on the hill when it comes to sick animals.❤❤❤🙌🏻

Bri, tell your Dad to rewatch his video .. At 15:39, in the video, the Dr tells him he should still keep her separated from other horses since Buffy is ONLY one actively sick right now ... 15:54 he asks, so what should he do now ... again, Dr. says bring her home n keep her separate from other horses since she is only one sick .. keep eye on the other horses, if possible, check others' temperatures a few times a day or watch for nasal and eye discharge from others not currently sick. You can feel the lymph nodes, too Actually, Bri, maybe you should watch video so you can explain importance as you have vet experience

What you say is 100% accurate! Bri, I'm begging you to watch your Dad's video and help him to understand what the Vet was telling him! Quarantine from all other horses is necessary. Feed bowls and water bowls should be sanitized daily and Buffy is to have separate feed and water bowls. Kourtney can also help you to know how to handle Strangles and keep it from spreading to all horses, donkeys, and cows on Morrow Hill. Strangles can be deadly and I don't want to see any of the Morrow Hill babies die!

Yes. My dog had a litter of pups and in just hours they developed strangles and has to have invasive procedure just to breathe! It is HIGHLY contagious and she should not be near other animals. The mini cows can also get it.

Exactly what I posted on her Facebook page. That pasture used to be a home which was destroyed and who knows where it came from and how long that nail had been in that pasture. Bri cares for all of her babies both 2 legged and 4 legged with the utmost love and care x

The Vet said to isolate Buffy but Dan told the Vet the horses weren't together but Dan's horse is with Buffy and they do drink after each other. So Dan's horse could be next to get sick.

It looks like sinusitis that we get. You are a gem Bri with animal care. One complaint tho was you cleaned her nose and then cleaned her eyes with the Same cloth. I just thought to myself that I wouldn't want all that green snot coming out of my nose then wiping my eye with the same cloth. Buffy looks really sorry for herself. Bless her.

Oh my gosh you guys, I'm so sorry all you guys are having to go through this. But I know they'll all get better because you take such good care of them. Daniel, why don't you consider getting a bucket of hot water, and doing some warm packs on Buffys neck, especially if it might burst, and even if it doesn't the warmth of them would probably feel really good on her neck. Maybe there are some online courses you could take to get ahead on the process of being a vet. My horse had a puncture would like Barbie. I had to stall him for 2 weeks. 2 times everyday I had to soak his ankle in warm epson salt. I had to give him antibiotic shots for a few days. Maybe you could put Barbie over in a nice stall at LE’s barn. He learned to put that foot in a 5 gallon bucket with warm water and Epsom’s salts. I had to stand there with him, but it was fun.

Not chicken area ! Lester’s stalls. I would put a human sock on the hoof and duck tape it. I did that years ago when my horse stepped on a big nail and it went into the frog of his foot! Easy to keep poop out.. Bree vet said if you have clippers to clip the hair so cleanup is easier !! Your dad forgot that part!! Ask him!!

Bri u r so gentle and loving with all the animals on morrow hill ...u have such a big loving heart ... and ur brother Jake does too ... he did Buffy's hair for her all pretty i guess Jake likes playing my little pony as well lol...he too loves all the animals on morrow hill just like u ... ur parents sure did a great job raising u 2 kiddos to love animals and care so much for them ... great job to Lu and Dan !!! hopefully all the animals are on the mend now and everyone on morrow hill is starting to feel better too .... y/all have the most bestest joyful Christmas this year and ill be waiting for the next video .... sending love and light to the whole family & all the furbabies all the way from Oklahoma !!!

Bri what is with your Dad ? When you have a sick miniature horse they need to be separated from all the other horses. He needs to make sure they can't eat or drink out of the same container. He also needs to make sure that they cannot come in contact with each other even through a fence. I told Your brother Jake the same thing and now I have learned that your Dad was also told this from a vet that he took the horse to!

Hi Bri. Please get your horses vaccinated for strangles. I think it's ridiculous when animals get something that can be prevented. I know things can happen, but now you know it's close by. Kim needs Big Boy taken care of too.

according to Ridings Equine Vets horses shouldn't be vaccinated for the first time while there's an active outbreak - "We do not recommend vaccinating your horse for the first time during an outbreak of Strangles on the same yard, this is because if a horse that is incubating strangles is vaccinated there is a higher chance of adverse reactions to the vaccination. If your horse has had the primary Strangles vaccinations then we recommend a booster vaccination during an outbreak to top up their immunity."

The Vet said to put Buffy in quarantine away from all other horses who had been exposed and who were not showing symptoms.
