Treatment of Vertebral Compression Fractures

This is an overview for General Practitioners and Patients, of the treatment of Osteoporotic and Traumatic vertebral compression fractures with emphasis on the use of the SpineJack mechanism which allows for enhanced integration of PMMA or bone graft after potentially optimised restoration of disc height. The system allows physical restoration of disc height prior to insertion of fillers which can be very useful where the vertebra is fragmented in to many pieces. The filler is inserted in to the re-aligned vertebra and unwanted leakage is minimised and the filler permeates effectively throughout the vertebra.
