I just got through my hair shedding cycle. On the whole month of October I was shedding like crazy, on wash day it'd be balls of hair even though my hair wasn't tangled. I guess I've never really paid attention to it before, but I started to pay more attention to my hair since May of this year. I washed my hair yesterday and barely had any strands that fell out, so the excess shedding has come to a halt. 🙏🏽

I just finished my fall shedding. I am not sure about you all sitting in front of heaters, but our skin and hair is drier with forced heat, closed windows and lower humidity, hence more shedding during the change of season. Have you all ever thought about using the Hot Head heat cap? Works great with deep conditioning and treatments. I am so glad you re-visited the Quidad Extreme Meltdown, it is really an awesome product. The Quidad Ultra-Nourishing Intense Hydrating Mask (I know you like this one TaylorAnne) is similar to Extreme Meltdown without the heat. I will be using the Meltdown next wash day. Good series.

The heaters are working like blow dryers. Try letting your hair dry for 1 hour naturally, then going into the room with the heaters, but don't get too close. I purchased an Aquis turban and it works wonders. I air dry for as long as possible then throw on the turban to absorb additional moisture. I have high porosity hair and it does not try my hair out.

You are so right Lori ann I see plenty of you tubers do something that they know they got from another KZbinr but won’t say where they got it from. I know I use to do video’s and I would see someone use or do something I know they saw on my channel becuz they would comment how they were going to try it.but they would never say they saw it on my channel. Like you said it’s not a big deal so why not give credit where credit is due. We all learning from each other. You don’t need to act like you just discovered it . Also I like the quidad curl recovery. I only use it on occasion though under my steamer. It helped greatly when I had heat damage.

The issue with Maui is that although it doesn't contain flamadihide, it has the I gredients that when mixed together create it.... that's it, no more no less... curlyproverbs did an e tire video explaining which ones they are....for me, I hate to say it, I. Not sure how much I care, but then again I feel like I should considering we eon5 know if it's a major amount that gets created since we don't know the amounts of each ingredient exactly.....

M.A.D.CURLS it’s funny... when I bought my first devacurl kit 3-4 years ago it said to put the gel first and then add the styling cream. I went online and chatted with them because instinctively I thought that was wrong and they said I could use the products the other way around too.. I guess they knew something we didn’t know.. lol 😂

Curly Proverbz made a video about the DMD Hydantoin ingredient in it, i.e. formaldehyde releasing agent, animal pee. WillOnAWhim did his research and came thru with the receipts. It doesn't have animal pee but it does have formaldehyde but so does Devacurl. I for one, am #notbothered there's always something to cause a stur in the natural hair community. I'm on my own bandwagon

I tried the Maui Moisture Agave masque. No matter which way I applied it, my hair would tangle & mat. I gave up using it as a masque & I tried it as a leave-in. It was only marginally better as a leave-in (no matter the styling product). So I'm just going to not use their masks; although I will check into that Vanilla hair oil spray that Taylor Anne mentioned 😅😂 Thanks for the vid!

Shedding more in fall & spring is a "thing". I do use my diffuser on cool/warm and I bet it beats having a heater on (gets a lot hotter) but I doubt it has anything to do with the shedding.

@@MADCURLS, I'm so sorry to hear that! If you go for your routine check-up to the doctor, have them maybe do a simple bloodtest to rule out vitamin deficiencies - it's easy enough to do, and I wouldn't call it a luxury. But only if you experience thinning and the shedding is beyond normal.

A lot of good things are said about the maui moisture butter. I've tried the shea butter masque and it was too thin, it would turn into milk if my hair was too wet(which made it impossible to detangle with)... This one also doubles as a leave in. Would you say the butter is thick enough to detangle super brittle/tangled hair with?

Looking at the ingredients in the Maui Moisture Vanilla Bean Butter, I'm seeing a few red flag if you care about them. The last 4 ingredients are DMDM Hydantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, and Fragrance (Parfum), and they are used as preservatives (aside from the fragrance of course). DMDM Hydantoin and Diazolidinyl Urea are formaldehyde releasers, which can cause irritation in some people. Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate is also a very common preservative, but a lot of people are sensitive to it and get irritation. And when parfum is listed as fragrance, it can be very irritating to many people. Some people don't care about many of these ingredients if they don't have a reaction just like when people were unbothered when others were freaking out about eco styler. But Maui Moisture isn't a natural brand, therefore I don't expect them to get rid of these ingredients. They are all very commonly used preservatives.

Hi ladies. In my search for a great product line for curly hair, I came across the Marc Anthony line. So far I like the results from their hydration mask and curl envy cream. What do you think of these products? They are available at all my local drug stores for less than $10 each. There is also a curl lotion but I have not tried it yet.

“First things first.. WATERR.” 😂 Lol you guys are hilarious. And also on the Maui moisture disagreement, I personally loveee their shea butter hair masque. It’s very thick and moisturizing. However I did hear a lot of negative things about the ingredients in the shampoo and conditioners so I decided to check into it. The shampoo contains “Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate” which technically isn’t a sulfate but is a cleansing agent that will most likely dry out your hair. So that’s probably the problem there. And also the conditioner has isopropyl alcohol in it which causes the drying in that. But I think Maui moisture gets more negativity then they deserve. For the most part the ingredients are amazing and curly girl friendly but if they were to just remove those two harmful ingredients, I’m sure they’d get a lot more hype and positivity ❤️❤️
