A question ...and this video is spookily good timing .. many thanks. I know well about achilles injuries, having had one on each( inc. half falling through a roof.!) Now Id like to know advice ..how long does a gout( or pseudogout) flare up "attack" located in the achilles tendon take to lose swelling and stiffness , in your experience.? Thank you. Id like to add that havig Covid, Long Covid, and Covid toe/foot adds a dimension to the subject matter of the video !

Gout flare-ups can range from a couple of days to several weeks. It really depends on how quickly you start treatment and how well your body responds to the gout treatment. So, I'm afraid I can't really give you a very useful answer.

I've been asking myself that question forever

Yes @pyrate31 it can go away fully, but you have to actually treat it and strengthen the tendon with rehab exercises to be able to get rid of it. I explain how the combination of relative rest + strength training helps it regain its normal function in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmLRl5qLZsagrMk

I think i got lucky i think i might of just sprained or pulled something as stretching seems to be making my achilles feel much better. I went for a run and decided to do some sprints since it was gonnna be a short exercise.. felt fine until an hour later after watching some tv. Hurt to walk and it was in one spot right at the one spot. It was stupid of me not to stretch before a full sprint run smh thatll teach me not to be stupid

Sounds like whatever you injured is minor. So, if you give it enough recovery time and test it with easy runs first and only later and carefully get back to sprinting, you will likely recovery without much issue. So don't rush to get back to sprinting until it feels 100% in daily activities and you can jog and do easy runs without a pain response in the 24 hours after doing it. 👉 If you want help with your rehab and with getting back to your normal activities, this is something that our team of physios can assess and help you with via video call. It really p155es me off that I love beer....but beer is my main trigger for extreme gout attacks 😢
@TreatMyAchilles7 күн бұрын
😔That is sooo frustrating. My boyfriend also loves beer and he found that as long as he makes sure he drinks lots of water before he has beer and also the day after, it is OK. But he has also had to make adjustments e.g. not have beer on quite as many days of the week as he would normally have and make sure he stays active and regularly go for walks and runs. So, I guess you can sum it up in that he has had to skew the balance a bit more in the direction of healthier choices so he can still enjoy his less healthy choices without getting gout.
