The New Zealanders and pakeha spoke Maori Before & during the signing of the TOW. Colonization of New Zealand was spoken about in a Bigge commission in 1823 then again in 1838 with NZ association. Maori trusred the missionaries they were complicit in facilitating Maori to sign away their sovereignty.

Just asking how did the treaty get burnt an who did it ,was it a way to stop maori from having any legal rights, just asking,history is interesting
