Does anyone know what happened to Pt 3? Seems like it was out there at one time and then it isn't there anymore. The DVD doesn't seem unavailable anywhere anymore

Funny, because Frank Zappa felt the exact opposite way about San Fran, that it was all "hyped", and the LA scene and everywhere else was ignored.

Zappa was an intelligent guy, but he was wrong too. Zappa was the same guy who said "Tobacco isn't a drug, it's a vegetable". For how intelligent he was, sometimes he came to conclusions that didn't make any sense other than how it made him feel. Tobacco makes him feel good = tobacco is good for him. He had such a big chip on his shoulder, he didn't know when he was just talking shit to talk shit.

@@sunkintree Frank wasn't the only one saying it. Others like Eric Clapton thought San Francisco music was overrated, and then you had all the coalition of rockers from Detroit who hated San Francisco.

Quicksilver...The Dead...Big Brother...the early studio stuff wasnt good at all. But live...WOW

the san fran sound that had been there and made new audiences worldwide with Monterey Pop Festival was largely a live sound. lets face it...the studio output sucked from all these bands. Save for Airplane and Moby Grape. These kids just werent that adept in the studio. But live...watch out. Pretty dangerous stuff. You had to see these San Fran bands live....no doubt.

Grace Slick was the best SF Singer and Janis Joplin wasn't? LOL! What a dumb comment. Slick was a terrible singer.

Grace and Janis were both unique, impossible to compare. But to me...equals

Grace and Janis were both great singers, some prefer Grace others Janis, that's just personal taste, but to say Grace was a terrible singer shows you to be ignorant about singing and music as a whole. And remember they were good friends and had a lot of respect for each other musically. Oh and btw Marty is right up there with them, it's often forgotten what a great singer he was.

Donna was better than both lol (jk sort of but after 72 and Pigpens death she definitely found her wings, or rather she always had them according to the Dead and Elvis, they just had to build the wall of sound so she could hear herself well enough lol)

terrible is a bit harsh, but she could be off key with her warbling i do agree
