Hi Dr Ben, quick question, i am fairly new to this whole T situation (been having it around 10 days) and it just suddenly came out of nowhere. How long do i have to wait before i engage with Treble Health? i am quite stressed out and depressed since im from Indonesia and there's not much about Tinnitus awareness in here like what you and Dr Julian Cowan Hill are doing. Will i be able to get guidance though i am from overseas?

Just knowing that tinnitus is a hyper vigilant response from the brain has been a game changer. Now that I know that it’s fueled by fear of the noise and focusing/checking on it things make so much sense. This started when I was worried about a lot of things in my life. I started focusing on this beating noise in my ear and the worry got out of control. Eventually it was a ringing I was focusing on. I have started telling myself that this noise isn’t harmful….I take deep breaths and purposely turn my attention to something good, relaxing, like picturing my toes in sand at a beach. Then I try and move on with my day. If my mind wonders back to worry over my ear I start the process over again starting with the calming self talk. I’ve already noticed a difference. Tinnitus really is a brain problem (fear thoughts in the realm of the unconscious mind) not an ear problem.

Mine started nine months ago and it's by far the worst thing I've ever had in my life, it's amazing how people don't know about this disease, my life has turned upside down and every day is a daily war, now it's surviving until I don't I know when. Science needs to focus more on tinnitus, more research and more projects.

Have had tinnitus on both ears for over 20 years and it had never been a problem to me, have otosclerosis on both ears also. 2.5 months ago went to sleep and woke up with the ringing in my ears being massively high. By God's grace I have been able to stand, have seen a "specialist" but they were not much help, they wanted to put me on anxiety med but I know this was not caused by anxiety. The ringing in ears gets high when around noise, have a fullness sensation with my voice and noise around, cause of it ive been sensitive to any noise. Been praying and reading Spalms and by God's grace getting better, slowly but surely I will overcome by God's grace.

amazing video, i feel like this is the best info i can find to date on tinnitus. I worked in machine shop for the last 3 years and have had a louder truck and started working on my tinnitus after a week of confusion. I had an audio test from a hearing aid store and also find it intersting they only tested up to 8k hz witha " normal " hearing. BUt possibly i have a hearing loss at a higher frequency than assumed as in the video. I am stage 2 to 3 . I found i have sensitivity to loud music and the cold at times. Warm showers will give me a reduction in ringing amplitude.

I think it's very important to help people get used to it while science can't do anything, but that can't generate a false sensation that people overcome and that's okay, I think that laboratories and medicine treat tinnitus as a symptom and not as a disease that It is already an error due to the ability to "habituate", in fact damage has occurred and therefore it can be considered a disease and should require huge research investments like other diseases. Getting used to it is important, but research and healing should be the focus and have much more importance for the medical community and the tinnitus community in general.

40+ Years Noise Induced Tinnitus. Carry the ear plugs with you always. Round #1 with T was milder version. Got used to it in a few months. Non issue in life. Round #2 about 40 years old. At wedding with extremely loud band. Spike never receded. Spent 2 to 3 years with sound generators and then habituated to loud T being a mostly non issue in my life. 5 months ago 5 year old girl (playing a practical joke) screamed directly in my ear. I'm back to the noise generators. Your spikes may be temporary but can be permanent.. Be careful.

I have three sounds, two main ones in both ears. One steady deep hum, one high pitched ringing and a third in my right ear that is like a wisp, usually hear that one in the morning. I hardly ever hear any of them though. I will actually seek out the high pitched sound at night to fall asleep. When I hear it, I know it’s time to rest, and fall right asleep like a baby. So none of this bothers me. If a cure came out today and it was too expensive I wouldn’t bother

So yes, I practiced like he said, listenning music etc and did my work like usually and it's all gone. I have many some small crisis, then I use a sound I made on my iphone and that work fine ! I was told that T can be caused by damaged auditory nerves from, say, an infection (true in my case). ENT told me nerves can regenerate. Not common but can happen, resulting in resolution of T. I was told past a year the T is usually permanent (slso true in my case). I'm happy the T went away and hate to play devils advocate, but I can't help but wonder if he was one of the lucky ones where the nerve healed since the T he suffered was less than a year.

I’ve had tinnitus since my early 30s ( 69 now ) but it went crazy in 2020 I may have had Covid but not sure . It’s been hell ever since but the ear popping helped ! I’ve ignore it for years decided early on it was not going to control me ! But in 2020 that changed but fortunately I can help with popping but ignoring it doesn’t make it go away thats crazy lol if it worked I wouldn’t have it now ! MRIs can’t set it off too but everyone is different so do what works for you ! Hopefully you’ll find something that does !

It's great that you've found a way to shift your focus and ease into sleep. Your approach of reframing the sound as a comforting presence, like a kitten's breath or the gentle patter of rain, shows a wonderful resilience and adaptability. Know it can’t hurt you and be patient. You will improve. I forget the noise frequently now 7 months in. Still get the spikes though and got shorter recently.

Nice to hear you made progress. Thinking about tinnitus does make it way worse. Does take an extreme long time to notice any difference, if at all bcz it is 24/7, is torment non-stop hurt feeling. Please spell out the name of method or dr you described .. you did not show in writing, that is annoying plus the list shown was briefly shown, unable to do anything with. Again, annoying and maddening ..

Good advice, Thanks for reminding me that I have three free ring tones...constantly, for 30 years, heh heh I just have to ignore them at which time they SEEM to go away but there will be a point I will be reminded that the buggers are still there just waiting to pester me When I feel myself getting into panic mode I find something as you did to push it away It's really loud right now, it's time for a distraction Hell would be that when I die the bastards would still be ringing

I've never had any issues with my hearing until I was prescribed a drug for nail fungus on one toe. I took this oral medication called Terbinafine for 30 days (Lamisil) and boom the noise started and it wasn't gradual it was immediately loud. I could not sleep, and it never goes away. I've since found studies where others have lost their hearing and tinnitus due to this medication as far back as 2010. The company stopped making it and now other companies make it as a generic. The brand name was Lamisil. Since I've started experiencing this, I've done a lot of research and I'm furious that the FDA allows this medication for children. It's even killed people for liver failure. The only temporary relief I've found is with prednisone, but it only reduces the sound but comes back once your off of it.

I have a question. My condition is similar to Erics, woke up with it in March, very loud, felt desperate, have used treblehealth cricket sounds, deep breathing, head and neck exercises, Julian Fellows rubbing body techniques, rubbing ear areas connected to vagus nerve all of these things have helped tremendously ESPECIALLY Ben's positive messages and advice on youtube it has helped so much and reduced the decibel level of my tinnitus a huge amount so much so that during the day I can get by now and not notice it too much. However, I still struggle with getting to sleep, I have tried crickets but I have to use airpods in bed as my husband could not stand the sound of crickets using my sound machine, I listen to audio books, again using my airpods and eventually I do nod off only to be wakened by the book in the middle of the night with a headache so that is not ideal either. Do you have any ideas of what I can try at night that might help? As you know as soon as you are in bed in silence it magnifies even if it has been very quiet during the day. Thanks for any tips you can share.

It's important to note that some medications, like amitriptyline, can cause tinnitus as a side effect. Since you're experiencing this after stopping the medication, it's essential to consult with your primary care physician (PCP) for further evaluation and guidance. They can help determine the best course of action to manage your symptoms and provide appropriate support. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to discuss them with your PCP. We would also be happy to speak with you treble.health/consultation

Hi! I saw you mentioned steroids can be useful - would you consider making a video about it? I see so many different opinions on prednisone so I’m not sure whether to take mine or not. My tinnitus started 3 weeks ago (on one ear), it’s mostly quiet, I mainly hear it when I’m tired/stressed. Would it be advisable to take prednisone, or is it too late/not worth the risks? Any ideas are appreciated!

@CapitalDefendr 8 ай бұрын
That's the type of mentality that will keep you suffering. You assume his T was mild w absolutely no basis for that assumption. He clearly stated how bad his anxiety was. Negativity drives tinnitus. Apparently you haven't figured this out yet. I've had it for 3 yrs and sometimes it's pretty bad but I won't sh*t talk people trying to help others just because I'm feeling sorry for myself. Because I don't feel sorry for myself. Have you given Treble Health a try for yourself or you just here to spread your misery? Work on yourself. Don't be that person
@HeatherHernandez
@HeatherHernandez 8 ай бұрын
@CapitalDefendr lmao you seem triggered. Yes, I'll continue to speak out about failed treatment (sound therapy) that's no better than placebo. Read some clinical trials for Christ's sake. And yes, clickbait titles for people suffering aren't right. You can go back and look through all his titles with the word "cure" or "stopped my tinnitus". Jastreboff's model has prevented research moving forward and the mentality of "learn to live with it." Thank God an actual researcher with double blind trials is getting a device out after fda approval Q1 this year. Good luck with your pricey Treble Health sound therapy.

Seriously, do some research. There's plenty studies that show sound therapy does not work. This guy healed on his own and as many other videos Ben Thompson does, he takes credit for it. Wow, I'm surprised that after developing tinnitus that this person now exposes himself to concerts, sports games etc - I was under the impression that once we acquired tinnitus that we have increased susceptibility to further damage. Is this true or is it that we can get injured just like any other person but that we are acquiring accumulative damage which is bad? Thanks.

Great question! Those with tinnitus are not more susceptible to auditory damage compared to those without tinnitus. It is important to protect our hearing, regardless, in environments that may cause damage to our auditory system.

While bone conduction headphones are optional, we suggest using either those or open-ear headphones. This allows natural sounds to remain audible instead of completely blocking out other noises.
