Oh, my gosh! I am an at home mother of 5 and I was looking up videos today on how to make barbie doll clothes and then I was surprised to see that there was a video on how to make shoes and then your video popped up after and I was in tears, but only because I was so inspired by your husbands words and how he describes your heart when it comes to this project you began to commence and how creative you are with your projects. My 5 year old daughter loves cutting up socks and making up her dolls and out of 3 girls she's the youngest and only one who loves playing with dolls like me, so I took a bigger interest in doing small crafts with her at home with what ever we could find in the house. and I have a lot of fun teaching, talking and creating with my daughter! I recommend it to anyone with children, boys or girls! I love this video your heart and how you turn a no longer loved dolly into a master piece everyone would love to have in their possession! Keep up the good hearty work and thank you so much for sharing your heart with us! Chao!

Thanks for the tutorial, a visual demo is so helpful! My daughter and I have been playing around with re-doing bratz and knew you used oogoo, but had trouble with the stickiness of it. We also painted some with acrylic paint which worked well, and carved details into them after it is dry. It's amazing stuff!

You are such an inspiration to me. I never liked buying the Bratz dolls for my daughter because of their make-up...though that was the "thing" 15 or so years ago. I often look at the dollies for sale at the thrift stores in which I shop and regret that some little girl is no longer enjoying them. Perhaps, I will embark on such a project as you are doing to give them as gifts. Kudos to you for sharing!

You make dolls that look very natural and nice.😇

How are Bratz not child friendly? The fact that you think they’re not says infinitely more about you than the dolls themselves. Bratz dolls are perfect just the way they are. You’re the real problem.

I'd like to custom some brats dolls myself and I'd like to do a bare feet option as well. Is it hard to match the skin tone of the original dolls when you do feet? How do you do it?
@SoniaSinghTreeChangeDolls9 жыл бұрын
SpaceCaseMeg I make bare feet from Sugru. It does take a bit of mixing to match the skin tone well. For lighter skin tones I use white Sugru and mix a small amount of red and yellow, and a very small amount of black. For darker skin tones mixing equal amount of pink and green and then adjust. Good luck!

@purplemonkfish9 жыл бұрын
Have you considered simply using Sugru? It's already coloured, comes in teeny little packs and can be mixed like modelling clay into any colour you want. It sets like... well.. flexible silicon rubber. It'd mean you could be a little more precise with the colouring, and it's fantastic stuff.

Hello, Sonia, can I please ask are there any toxicity considerations in using domestic silicone - I am in the UK and want to try this. Do you use food grade silicone or is the assumption that a child of a certain age would not ingest an 'oogoo' shoe? When selling your dolls do you include an ingredients list to show what the material is or is this not necessary? Any advice greatly appreciate.
@SoniaSinghTreeChangeDolls8 жыл бұрын
Hi Hanna, thanks for your question. When I sell my dolls I always include a note than the item includes small parts not suitable for children under 3 (in other words children who may chew or put items in their mouth). I would not recommend children make the shoes using oogoo, as the silicone omits some fumes while curing - always use in a ventilated area, as it will instruct you on the package. However once fully cured, silicone is considered non-toxic (unlike many plastics).
