Both the tailless lionesses (a mother and daughter) had their tails bitten off by hyenas in separate incidents about 5 yrs apart.

the tip of the tail is used while hunting to give out visual signals to other lioness during the stalking part of the hunt. Same with the ears tips(the black markings)

The hyenas got injured while biting off lioness tail?
@KatherineUribe-18 жыл бұрын
Poor Mum Tailless is gone, but I saw her Tailless daughter not long ago during a live televised drive out of Djuma. The Tsalala pride is still alive mostly due to the efforts of Tailless lioness! She's a strong leader, keeping them from starvation and disbandment. I admire her strength a great deal, and I know she got that determination from her mother.

I remember hearing somewhere that leopards were the only big cats able to descend a tree head first. albeit shittily, a lion did manage to do it as well, which means a jaguar and tiger, both cats being much more arboreal than the lion, can do it as well.

Two differences on leopard versus lion are that a leopard is light enough to climb branches that would never hold a lion. Leopards also have lots of experience falling out of trees since they aren't always successful hoisting their prey on the first attempt.

have been seeing quite a lot of the tsalala pride since the matimbas pushed them out of Londolozi. I guess the Birmingham males pushed the matimbas out of their territory. and the matimbas have pushed the tslala pride out od their territory because of the 3 young males. the tsalala pride had a run in with the Nkuhuma pride a week or two ago. then last week the tsalala pride had a run in with the Birmingham males and one of the young males hasn't been seen since that night. hope he is ok & just seperates from them & not dead
