These homes are heartwarming and amazingly created! Maybe you've done this already and i haven't seen it, but a painted wall mural of choice-- perhaps meadows with wildflowers, or painted trees as a forest, or peaceful water would be gorgeous as a backdrop for your homes

It's all beginning to look like a real forest now with the different trees found in them. This new tree looks like it could be a pine or cedar tree standing beside an oak , it is an outstanding contrast of the different textures found in the natural world. I am in love with your forest and look forward to seeing the new videos when you have uploaded them.

AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE your gnome & mouse homes!! Cannot wait to see the mole one, as well. I keep wanting to make one!!! One of these days!!! LOL! I do have a question about the clay tree bark. Do you think that it would hold up to outside elements, if it was sprayed with a sealer? I have some PVC pipes that I am wanting to make look like tree limbs. I will be using them to hold up lights, when out camping.
@WhereTheGnomesLive6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about how well it would hold up outside. I suppose with an excellent sealer it might live outside? I'm not sure, I've never tried it. You would have to talk with a professional at a local hardware store, I'm sure they could answer those questions. Best of luck!

Will you be showing us how you made the tree bark actually look like tree bark? I don't remember it having so much texture with just the tape/paper towel application. I know you've said you used the paper clay, but I would really like to see it being done, at least a small section. Maybe when you enlarge your one branch, you could record the process of doing the bark on it?

@WhereTheGnomesLive6 жыл бұрын
When I made the frame for the mole's home today I had to laugh, I think Dad knew there was going to be a mole's home!! Or he wanted me to build one since he made that support under the tree with no legs! There's nothing in the way under it but it's still super strong. It holds up the tree with lots of room under it for another home. Ya, I think he knew.. lol

Does it cost a lot to make these fairy houses? I so want one!
@WhereTheGnomesLive6 жыл бұрын
it depends on the size you make. I build out of cardboard, foil, and masking tape. A small house is very cheap to build,, maybe 20-30 dollars, maybe even cheaper. a large one like this is probably between 150-200 Canadian for supplies now, I haven't added it up yet.

Are Merry and Arthur Lemontree needle felted or made of clay? If clay, what makes them furry? They are so adorable!! Can't wait for your how to videos on making clay mice. This is awesome and such an inspiration. I'm already clearing a space in my house to make one of my own. I do have one question though....where is the bathroom? I know the mousie family will need one.
@WhereTheGnomesLive6 жыл бұрын
it has one on the 2nd floor.. and there will most likely be another added somewhere, not sure yet where. None of the rooms are done, aside from the 4th floor, all are still empty. Lots to do :)
@spg35fem6 жыл бұрын
When you cover the foil with tape, how many layers of masking tape do you put on? I'm making my version of your mushroom house and I put one layer of tape. It seems too delicate for me.
@WhereTheGnomesLive6 жыл бұрын
the foil should be folded over a number of times. 1-2 layers of masking tape to hold everything together. I normally do 1 but some places get extra since I'm overlapping a lot of areas. Once you get the paper towel or newspaper on and that dries then the walls will be stable but not rock solid. The mushroom houses I made will stand up to child's play. I've even dropped one and nothing happened to it.
@spg35fem6 жыл бұрын
Where The Gnomes Live thanks Sharon. Hopefully mine turns out as cute as yours
