Going to look good. Probably be a dream to skid. I always liked the way a good thinning job looked when it was finished.

Glad to see you wide space thin it,rather than watch it burn year after year,I enjoy watching you run that Tigercat,it is a beast,retired now but thinned a bunch for pope & talbot and port Blakely tree farms in the day/Olympic peninsula/Kitsap peninsula

Hopefully your skidder operator is careful and protects the leave trees. It will look amazing when it’s done.

Do you find yourself ever wanting a heel rack for moving around on steep ground? I saw the new 857s come with a heel rack and felling head, that seems like it would be handy!
@wantowski987Ай бұрын
Yea I bet it would be handy at times, I wonder how well it heels logs, cuz my grapple cylinders don’t have load locks
@123brutalmetalАй бұрын
@ ah copy that! So that means the entire time you’re using your grapple you have to hold down the function right? How many hours are on that your 855? Looking at a 2018 with 9800hrs. Seems to be a well taken care of machine. Not sure what generally goes out on them first!
@wantowski987Ай бұрын
@ no you don’t have to hold the button but just wondering if heeling logs would pry them open 🤷🏻♂️ I have 3k hrs on this 855, my last one we traded it it at 6500 hrs! Still was a great machine but with tethered and cutting on production sides we just thought it was best to get rid of them around 5-6k hours and run a fresh one plus better money on trade in with Less hours you know
