Because wisps regenerate HP slowly over time, you could just keep building moonwells until it had enough HP to survive the Shadow Strike HP drain.

Grubby is surprised by the opponent building an ancient of war near his base really early. He suspects this could be bad. He almost forgot to build a moonwell, later decided to build an ancient of wonders, during this time the opponent's ancient of war is fighting within the base , but seems to be struck. Grubby at this point thinks this might not be as bad as he initially thought. And at this point he decides to expand. He also techs up at this point. Grubby walks the tree of life to his natural expansion and clears the creeps with the help of archers. He jokes about Keanu Reaves. And takes the army and recruits Firelord from tavern as well. Later he encounters the opponent near turtles. He has two attack upgrades and fiery fire. Both beast master and Fire lord are level 3-2 respectively. He is still 50 population, while the opponent attacks with archer mounted hippogriffs. Grubby meanwhile takes the opponents laboratory and moves towards the opponents base. The hippogriffs at this point attacks grubby's base. And opponent's maive returns to counter grubby's onslaught. Grubby finally wins. Gg.
