Wild to see this again after all these years. Growing up in Santa Cruz everybody is within a few degrees of eachother. I made music with Shelf Nunny, never knew Oliver personally, but loved his music. This video took longer to put out than expected because they hand-drew all the animations. Splitting Branches was the EP. Very cool to see the growth from this, to that Radiohead remix, to seeing his merch in Hot Topics around the nation. Peace & blessings!

Shhh Cause daylight drips like liquid matter Puddling horizons wake Nighttime shifts and shadows shatter Shifting into shapes You won't last very long like modern man life span I ran my plan, take a glance as my eyes scan Take into account if I'm making an amount If I don't, I probably wasn't faking them out Break a fucking a plate, earthquake in your house Spit venom when I rap like there's a snake in my mouth Split an atom in half, precise movement from the source As fire scorch, and multiply in force I distort hazy vision clearly through my opticals Third eye blind, rarely overcoming obstacles Barely possible, chances are you'll rot away Melt your brain cells like ice cream on the hottest day Of the year it's crystal clear through my crystal ball Tried on the crystal shoe, shit was a little small Search your body, find internal peace well within Acid eats your flesh and reveals your skeleton As it melts away, it disintegrates to liquid I can't help what I say Mind sets twisted, gifted in a sense Coincidentally balanced I'm part brilliant, part mentally challenged And more often than not, we don't even really know what we're looking at! I wonder if Oliver even remembers the login for this account. I know that he's unhappy w/ his current record deal and is tired of the meme persona so maybe if we support this channel he'll feel free to leave it behind and come back to his roots. Sub to his old channel..
@Zester-bb5el4 жыл бұрын
I feel like we as a community miss Oliver Tree's old music but also cherish the new tracks, I feel like Oliver is under pressure with his new "ugly is beautiful" album being postponed and the constant change of music. From some of the old rap tracks which was partly lost, to his new Alternative/Indie take on music. Its amazing seeing the music change and ... not to mention his masterpiece of a bowl cut flourish.
@johnbagley82114 жыл бұрын
@@Zester-bb5el I agree that his new music is amazing! It's not really about that end of the art and while I do feel that the Oliver Tree living meme is a wonderful work of art in and of itself, I don't believe that he wants to continue with it. I might be wrong, I've never heard him address it personally, but I think that he may be giving some hints eluding to the fact that it has ran it's course.
@rock44244 жыл бұрын
How do you know that oliver tree is sick of his "meme persona" i have never heard of it
@Zester-bb5el4 жыл бұрын
rock Oliver tree has been less and less active in the community keeping up his meme persona and has said after ugly is beautiful he will be “quitting”. When he says quitting I’m pretty sure he means he’s letting Oliver tree’s persona go. Hopefully he’ll embrace his old style of music or try experimenting. Can’t wait for ugly is beautiful, hopefully is going to be great 😀.
