Phase 1 is now underway for Tree2Sea, shaping and testing handmade timber surfboards. The basic shape is based around the Alaia, a traditional Hawaiian timber surfboard, made from solid one piece timber slabs from fallen trees in the wilderness of Australia.
This initial phase is exploratory, testing materials, tools, and design possibilities, leading to exploration and discovery of uncrowded beautiful waves in the Pacific Ocean..
If you have ever wanted to shape your own wooden surfboard, riding trees is the ultimate passage for any keen soul surfer. Visit us at www.tree2sea.org for more info about our upcoming projects. We aim to empower local surfers with the the processes involved in shaping and riding their very own highly functional all natural surfboards made from local wood suited to sliding and gliding the Ocean swells.
