My 2511 is my favourite saw. I just run a 10” quarter pitch bar and chain and it’s an absolute unit. Converting the saw to quarter pitch was game changer.

Where did you find the parts to convert to 1/4 pitch ?
@Ollierrr2 ай бұрын
@@andrewmcbride9769 the sprocket from off eBay and the bar is just a stihl one.

Enjoyed the video. Nice little saw.....I have one, but now prefer E-saws (Echo 2500T & Husky 540i). It is a joy climbing and working the trees. Can't explain it, but it's a fun time. Nice work up there....and super felling.

I run a couple of 2511T's, ported by Paveen Raj in Malaysia, great saws!

If it’s brand new wait until it runs in a bit more! It sounds like it could go a little leaner on the H jet and you’ll get a tad more top end speed out of it,they don’t like to be to lean thow,iv got 3 of them and they have saved my shoulder and they rock for there size

I use the stihl ms150tc & with a couple mods it became my favorite saw as well. I use it over my 201 & 200 These little saws are like having a one handed lazer blade, & your shoulders & wrists will thank you Good video STAY SAFE

you could lean your saw out a touch to get even more power, sounds a bit rich. I'm guessing the carb limiter caps have already been removed since you had it ported, usually red plastic. Get yourself a tachometer and set it 13000rpm. it'll be a big difference. I'm sure Travis tuned it for his location. Top handles without mtronic are fairly temp and altitude sensitive.

@jiffypop247 yeah ok cool I'll have a play with it

I been using a very aged McCulloch, 32cc 16" bar. I had to buy an Oregon bar and chain, it cuts alright. But last week it ingested the air filter. I've never seen an air filter degrade and crumble that quickly. The morning check all looked good, it had been running great the day prior. Granted, I didn't remove the air filter for the check, but it was all there with a visual inspection. While moving between bucking, it just refused to idle and needed increased RPM to keep going. I should've stopped immediately and took it apart like I normally do, but I wasn't in the mood and just wanted to get the last 4 cuts done. When it refused to run for the last 2 cuts, I finally broke attitude and took off the cover and found half the air filter gone. I might break it down to the crankshaft and clean it all out and see if I can keep it going for a few more years, or at least have a "functioning trophy". I am proud of how long I kept that saw running. But, I decided to improve my quality of life and stop struggling to find parts for a saw that is no longer manufactured. I bought the MS 194T. I'm told that it'll be in by the end of the week for me to pickup, new in box. I'm looking forward to it. Oh yeah, I forgot that I need to stroke your ego. Good job, man. You and your team done good work.
@treeclimberharry5822 ай бұрын
Wow that sucks it decided to consume half your air filter haha! Thanks for the ego stroke too 🤣

I built that saw. I've been talking with Joe Boyd about doing one for you, August, and Joe. I just shipped over a new Arial rigging device I designed for climbing. If you haven't seen it yet, ask Joe about it. The 16'" speedcut nano bar and chain works well in my part of the country on hardwoods but doesn't seem to do as well with the wood he gets into in the perth australia area...
