@zhumin3557 Жыл бұрын
In Chinese it usually is used to call someone a lot older than you, and calling someone "sister" and "brother" is actually fairly common in Chinese too.
@rodrigorecinos1335 Жыл бұрын
Yeah in other countries, but the difference between men and women is like they don't like to be called auntie because they thought you're calling them old, that is more common to happen with women between the age of 18 to 30, so saying auntie to them, is like "I'm not that old to be called auntie", but for men is like an honor, like yeah you are kid and I'm sir for you, a lot of text but I hope this help to understand

Chinese are so calm and nice people. You can see with the expression they have shown after being called auntie. Most of the girls just laughed and moved on. Try this prank in any other cities and the reaction would have been a lot more different. 👍 🇨🇳
@SLOBeachboy Жыл бұрын
You are right about the reactions being different in different cities but probably not in the way you think. For example, the reactions of people in various other cities in China are likely to be quite different from those of people living in Hong Kong - where I’m guessing this prank was filmed. And yet the reaction would actually be pretty much the same in a city like Tokyo, Japan or Tapei, Taiwan. In other words, since Hong Kong was under British rule for nearly 100 years before being handed over to Communist China in 1997, the people there are probably actually more characteristic of people in Taiwan or Japan than they are of people in the rest of China. Of course it’s also true that wherever you go in the world you are going to find good people and bad people and whatever they are has nothing to do with their race but rather has to do with the environment in which they were raised. Also, when these types of videos are shot anywhere the people making them typically only show the entertaining and lighthearted reactions and not the ones in which people were genuinely pissed off.
@KirbyWithHair Жыл бұрын
@@SLOBeachboy Definitely not in Hong Kong. People in the video spoke in Mandarin whereas people in Hong Kong speak in cantonese.
@SLOBeachboy Жыл бұрын
@@KirbyWithHair - Yes and that is exactly why I immediately ruled out Hong Kong. I think you misunderstood my second sentence and reading it over again I can see how that could happen. In fact it even confuses me. When I said "where this was likely filmed" I was referring to those cities in China but my poor choice of sentence structure makes it look like I meant Hong Kong. But either way, this was completely secondary to the point I was trying to make.

tbh this happened to me too in my own way. I was heartbrocken when for the first time in my life a young teenage cashier said "what can I get for you ma'am". It happened this year at 28 years old lol! before ppl used to always say "miss" and so I swear I felt my heart shatter lol. It was funny though. I laughed and the cashier was confused but I straight up told him this was the first time someone called me m'aam" and so it shocked me lol we both laughed and he kept saying "sorry sorry" but I told him it's not an issue at all and it was funny! When I went home I laughed so hard and then cried a bit and then laughed and now I am over it. I still get "miss" from time to time but I noticed more "ma'am" and i am getting used to it now lol. Time and aging is such a weird thing! You literally think you're a kid forever but then look in the mirror and notice a few wrinkles, maybe a grey hair here and there and that's when you see that time truly does fly by quickly hhhh. Life!

I have lived for a couple of years in Japan, and believe me : the Japanese and the Chinese seem to have very similar social demeanors in spite of being hostile to each other on many national issues! 😊 I am not talking about their appearance or facial features (which look similar anyway, to somebody who is not East Asian), but the similar way in which they smile, the way they talk shyly with strangers, and the way they display courtesy towards each other. The Japanese are famous for politeness in public interactions, but it seems the Chinese too, are not lacking in it. 👍👍👍
